I *think* I have narrowed my choice for pistol to these two below. I would appreciate your thoughts/comments/advice:

Aside from aesthetics, they are the same pistol. Nearly exactly the same design. Same as a baby eagle as well. I've only heard good things about the two you posted.

I still love mine. Biggest difference between the baby eagle and the above is the de-cocking/safety mechanics. I think the even the mags are interchangeable. I know they are for the CZ and baby eagle.

I finally got to the range and shot some hand guns! (havent shot a gun since I was about 11 and can barely remember that)

Shot a 22, 40 and 45. Tons of Fun. I think I want to pick up a 22 and 45, now to just figure out what to buy. I really enjoyed the XD45 I shot!

I got to the range finally (yesterday). I had to test my handiwork after my Glock trigger group install. For the record, my work was poor I had the slide release spring above a pin instead of below causing the slide to lock back after each shot. Easily fixed on the range.

Other then that, the new trigger feels good, smooth with a nice break and a nice clean reset.

I also put about 130 rounds through the Model 41, its first time out of the box. There is a lot of hype around that gun, and I really like my Buckmark, but I am here the report that the hype was well earned. Initially I could not find my first shot on my shoot 'n' see, that because it was dead center in the orange. That gun is badass.

I got a couple of stove pipes, but I expected that with a new rimfire in a gun with a reputation of being a little temperamental.

You certainly don't have to.

The 41 is very good, but it isn't 3x better then the Buckmark.

I would buy a Buckmark for a first .22 pistol. I am also interested in the S&M M&P22, I have not found one to put my hands on yet, but I will buy one when I see it. It is almost identical to a regular M&P so it would be good for cheap training.

If you're the type of person that takes care of stuff and like really high end stuff, just get the Model 41 and call it a day. Otherwise, you'll end up with a Browning Buckmark or Ruger, or some .22 revolvers and still end up with the model 41. LOL I just went straight to the model 41 and never looked back. I took care of it like an heirloom and even after 10,000 rounds, it's flawless (except for the fact it's ammo sensitive).

Personally, my goals for handguns aren't for police/military. I'm more of a bullseye type of guy. One handed (or two) and just focusing on breathing, trigger squeeze, 50-75 feet pistol target. So, my bullseye guns are the Model 41, 952-2, and a 1911. I also have a 627 8 shot performance center revolver to throw into that mix. Those are my prized handguns that I plan on keeping.

The other stuff like Springfield armory and glocks and other high capacity stuff is for my zombie warfare that'll never happen (so I ended up selling most of it).

I have a few CC guns like the .45 XD-S which is a hoot to shoot one handed but doable. Also the Ruger LCP and a Model 36 .38. BTW, all three of them are suprisingly more accurate in my hands than a P229. The P229 has the barrel too high IMO and there is more rotation and just doesn't feel correct to me. The Glocks point up for me and I don't care to change my natural angle of my wrist.

So, I guess my purposes of bullseye and CC ends up giving me the guns I end up keeping. The other guns were just taking up space so I unloaded them and I really don't care to collect guns for the sake of collecting them (except for a Colt Python and I'm looking for a nice .44 mag) My next "handgun" is going to be a fully modified Ruger Charger good for a hundred or two yards. I already have a nice Nikon X scope for it and a Kidd 1.5 lb trigger.

Those small auto .22 I really don't like. They're almost purposeless. They're too small for true self defense, just as big as a CC, and not as accurate as the "other" .22

Picked up a Ruger Mark III 22/45 Target and a Beretta 92A1 today. Great prices at the gun show.
