M57 fuel return line failure

I had the injector return line fail (split open) on the 335d. I am replacing both lines 13537799869 and 13537811577. Is this a symptom of a failing injector (over pressure the line) or something I am not aware off? The lines seem fairly brittle. Let me know if you have any insights

13537799869 was the line that split open right before injector 1 at the clamp (blue circle). 13537811577 is getting replaced because the plastic T broke when trying to remove that one time clamp.

Try buying an intake charge pipe coupler from a dealer and see how many pieces it gets you! 😂

OP, your failure is most likely mechanical from someone either laying some weight on it or cracking it during install/removal.

Commonrail injector lines are also prone to fail from improper torque during install. They are one of the more critical torque specs such as head bolts, stuff like that.

Nadir this was the return line so no torqued fittings. I replaced the lines and buttoned up the car no more issues! I will chalk it up to just being old and failing.
