Deadly Accident in Howard County, MD on Rte 144

Hopefully, the seriously injured pull through. The at-fault driver was behind the wheel of a brand new BMW M3, you can tell by the carbon fiber roof. It looks space gray or titanium silver...the news footage was not terribly great. The car was severed in half with the V8 splayed in pieces across the roadway. Apparently the car was stolen...the driver was 22 and he had a 20 year old passenger. The driver of the Ford Explorer he hit was killed and the family are all in critical condition...

I hope to god the driver, passengers, or owners of the vehicle are not forum members...and even if they are not....God be with them...

People...drive carefully.

This always makes me mad, seems like almost in every case, the "bad" guys always kill innocent people. Drunks, drugs and thiefs always walk away.. Why cant reverse Darwinism ever work properly?? My thoughts are with the victims.

Sad. That stretch of Rt. 144 is hilly but mostly straight, perhaps the most deceptively dangerous kind. A few weeks ago we were driving the same route and within a couple of miles two people cars into my lane forcing me to swerve. Some people just suck.

I saw that report last night on TV. They showed the entire engine block sitting on the road where it had fallen out.

So sad

this article says it was an M6

I don't know about an M6. I saw the engine as well. What's left of the car looked like a e9x but it may be true.

I think the kid took the car without his parent's permission. The reported kind of hinted to that.

Very sad.

Hope the other driver makes it to stand trial and go to jail for a long time.

the report said M6...but it is def. a new M3...the police officer idenitified the car as "a new BMW he was not familiar with, but looked like an M6 due to the carbon fiber roof."

That assumption leads me to believe it was an M3...and the fact that the motor laying dead in the road looks like a V8.

Nonetheless...this story sucks for all of us...just makes bad news...

I really cant make out what car that was... its really petty to even insist thats its a Roundel or any car for the matter
... Roundel folks are cool... just pray for the victims is all I can say at this point.
