Bone stock to JB3, V3 or wait for Conforti's setup?

Hey guys,

I am ready to step up the perf after one month of bone stock driving. Which setup works the best at our altitude here in Denver? I know some Audi tuners work like crap at altitude and some work very well so I would imagine the same applies to 335 setups.
What have you guys seen?

Well, I have been running JB1 for over a year, and I really like the subtle gains I get with it. It also retains the stock feel of how the boost comes on. I have been thinking lately of possibly upgrading to the JB3 (pin-out), but I will probably wait until after warranty is over to do so. Have talked to another E92 guy around that has the V2, and he has nothing but good things to say about it. There are some others that have the SSTT, but have not heard their opinion on it.

At our altitude, the high boost piggy's will not have quite the hp/tq gains seen at lower altitudes because our little turbos will begin to run outside of their efficiency, so keep this in mind. Supporting mods such as Catless or High Flow Catted DPs and intakes will also help with the turbo efficiency, as well as a better intercooler.

Some of you Dinan Flash guys should chime in on this too, I am curious how you like the flash.

Well, I'm personally going to wait for Jim's Shark Injector before I get my upgrade. If history is any indicator, Jim will come out with a software flash that is on par or better than the Dinan, but at a much better price. Also, the installation is virtually dummy proof. Just plug it into your OBD-II port and press a button. Takes like 15 mins to reprogram the car, plus you can return it to stock just as quickly.

I'm not looking for the fastest or most powerful tune though, just a healthy increase in power and drivability without sacrificing engine longevity too much. If you're looking for all out power, you're probably better off getting a Procede V3 or JuiceBox 3, or something like that.

Im new , until this thread all I had heard of wats Vishnu..
This Juicebox seems ...plug and play , all of about 20 minutes install for the stage 1 ,2.
How safe is this product to my engine and safety systems is my question.. I will not buy a 40k dollar car and have it screwed.

Thanks guys! I may wait for Conforti as well. I used his stuff 10 years ago on a 325i and it was solid. Any time frame this is coming out?

The JB3 does not have a map for altitude yet but the JB2 does and can be upgraded to JB3 for free.

Has anyone done the catless DPs? Will it pass emissions here in Colo? I have an 'beta' offer to do one for my Xi with a local guy but I wasn't sure if it would fly under the radar.

Catless DP's might fly under the radar on emissions if you bring in the car fully warmed up so that the secondary cats are doing their job. The one's in the DP's are mainly just for when the car is cold since they warm up the quickest.

I would be a little careful going DP's though if you are thinking of getting a tune as well, unless you are absolutely sure you do not have progman 29.2, because you will be close to the code trigger limit then. If you are sure you don't have it though, there shouldn't be a problem.
