took my 335xi coupe to the track

Took my car to the track for a small event.

I have a Sept 07 build 2008 xi coupe. Steptronic. Stock.

Ran with a bit over 1/2 tank of gas. Launched without any traction control (DTS off) at 2500rpms in M1. Let the computer auto shift everything.

Anyways, only managed a 13.69 at 100.89 mph. The 60' was consistently 1.96x. No traction issues. The temperature outside is about 87 degrees at the hottest part of the day.

The race weight with driver is 3904lbs. I weigh 195lbs.

Anyways the top end seems lacking. Don't know if it is just the weather. Another 335xi sedan step ran similar times.

Damn, 3900 lbs?!? Crap, thats heavy!

I ran 12.85 @ 111 mph with PROcede V2 and race gas, but the temps were lower.

Yes, the xi does lack top end a little.

Sorry no vids. I have the slips and can scan them in. The car weights in without me at about 3700lbs. Its about right for a Xi model. Without a doubt additional power combined with the AWD ability to launch hard makes the modified 335xi very quick on street tires. Stock is only so so performance but very consistent.

Good ET for the mph and the weight. congrats there. 3900lbs = ouch. I think we're all screwed on weight though.

You need some cold weather! You may not crack a 12 but low 13s sound attainable if the car likes the better air as much as most think it will.

I've yet to get my luxo-boat 335xi 6MT down the the track but hope to do so in September or October. I'm interested to see how the 60ft times on a stock 6MT (mine) compare to a 6AT.
