I recently got a 335xi coupe with no sports package and no 18's.

I heard that the speed is limited at 130 mph is that true?

I think i passed 130 mph few times. Can anyone confirm that this is a fact?

yup you need the 18" upgrade for the raised speed limiter and oil cooler

That sucks, but you def have an advantage with launching the car in the 1/4 mile, but if you race, lets say someone like me on the highway..........bye bye, but i do have JB3 and aFE intake and I did stay at a Holiday Inn express last night, LOL............

How often do all of you drive over 130. You aren't going to even hit those speeds on a track.

Pretty much never. I was just alerted by the fact that i saw on the thread that there was a lmiter. But now that i think bout it. I wont be going that much fast.

That sucks for your coupe guys. I got the Sedan and I've hit 140 less than a handful of times. BTW I have SSTT.

It's not a coupe thing. It is a "I didn't order the 18" wheels with the sport package thing". If you have a sedan with stock 17" rims your speedo is off or you need glasses.

You are limited to 130 and dont get the oil cooler with the 17" option. I can understand the 130 mph part as the all seasons that come with the 17" rims arent z rated but the no oil cooler just doesnt make sense to me. I actually wanted the 17" rims for a winter set up but ended up getting the 18's for the oil cooler.

Do you mean you got the limiter removed but came with limiter stock?
Or after modding did the limiter go away itself?

130 with no sports package and 155 with sports package.

I took mine to 150.

with no tune.

does anyone know if the jb3 takes the limiter off or not? not that i plan on going that high but would be nice to know. =P

I dont think JB3 takes of the limiter. Pretty sure it doesnt.

And i know what you mean.. I wont be going 155 either but the fact that i got a limiter bothers me.

I think you needed to get sports package and 18 wheels.

Since the 17 RFT's are limited to 130 mph as well. Dealer limits it.
