V3 install nightmare

First off does anyone have a link to GOOD detail instructions for V3 because watching videos sucks and its getting confusing

2nd is my car now has a check engine light, not sure of what is causing it

maybe because of the firmware which is the 3rd problem. I am unable to install the latest firmware, says its wiping out the old firmware but yet nothing happens.

Anyone experience anything like this? We tried calling them but as you know, that didn't go well.

1. v3 PnP is very easy to install.
2. The video is good, imho (press pause and rewind if you need to).
3. If you have a problem, fill out a Tech Callback Request on the Vishnu Web site and they'll call you back.

Try the tech request form on their website.
I'm not sure of any other instructions...its best to do it slowly, and I also had to keep replaying the video to get it installed right. I assume when you load firmware that the car ignition is on? It does take some time to erase the old firmware then it will load in % the new stuff. Also, what's the code you are getting?

make sure you have your laptop set on a full power profile (not battery saving)

either that or make sure you plug it in

also make sure that your laptop is connected to AC power. I know that Vista laptops running on batteries could have problems with the rs-232 <-> USB connection. I'm not sure if XP has the same issue but now I always run on AC power, just in case.

Hi There
Not sure what we can do to make the video easier. If you or anyone else has suggestions, please let us know. As for the firmware updating, that is absolutely necessary if you are updating from v1 or v2 to v3. if you don't update the firmware successfully, you will throw a fuel pressure related code. If you still have problems updating firmware, perhaps someone local to you (with a v3) can help you out. Worst case scenario would be to ship your PROcede to us and we can do it for you and ship it back asap. But the whole firmware updating process shouldn't take more than a minute. If it is, or if it stops before it says "complete", then you need to address a comms issue you have with your laptop.

Make sure you turn the ignition all the way off after uploading the new firmware, and then start the car. PROcede should reboot with the new firmware and you may then load the map you want.

The V3 is an awesome tune, but with it, you need to have some knowledge of the computer also...Find someone thats close by to you that can help and assist you in updating the firmware and map...Once you done and drive your car, all the frustration and aggravation you are encountering will be negated!!!

Wink

I didn't even try to install the V3 by myself, I went to a tuner who did that for free since I was sending him all my buddies with their V3 to install as well for a reasonable price
