426whp Boost-only 335i in Eurotuner??

Just got my latest issue, suprised to see a BMW (for once). The owner claims 426whp with Active Autowerke software, exhaust and BOV, RPI intercooler, ram air scoops. It says he had Nitrous Express intercooler spray kit, but wasn't used on the dyno. Seems like major BS to me, but I'm ready to be corrected.

Anyone else see this? It's the October issue.

426hp, but not at the wheel. Most likely 426-15%=362whp.

Says whp in the article in several places. 290whp baseline dyno, 426whp after mods, then it says "with a gain 136whp...".

I'm sure they made some egregious errors, but I thought I'd bring it up

I saw the cover but have never been a fan of ET. I suppose I will pickk this one up to browse. At least they have something about on the GT powered B5 S4's from what I recall.

I'm tired, so it sounds like a really good throttle remapper to me -- goes to 200%, now known as 2WOT, where you stamp both feet at once...

Expected HPFP lifetime with this mod, 9 months - same as stock

whoever dyno'd it, must've made some major mistake or purposely put some BS numbers to it...

yea, dont always trust what EUROTUNER says.

I had a feature in Eurotuner on my built big turbo A4... and half the things they said about my car were way off!

It was my way of calling bs on the article - though I haven't read it. throttle remapping makes cars feel faster -- so I was comparing it to that myth.

I don't believe even a heavily modded 335i can get to 426wph without replacing either the engine or the turbos.

The tunes/piggybacks known here would have a few cars on the road, at least for brief periods, in that range otherwise. If a turbo replacement is out there, I think someone here would know. It would also need a custom tune, most like likely based on other n54 hardware/flash tunes. I know some are working on turbo upgrades -- but haven't heard of success yet.

If I'm wrong in my guess, it would be cool to see the set of mods that gets a few brave souls to 426wph for a brief period (IMO).

Several of my friends have had feature articles where Eurotuner never asked them what power the car made (or even if the car had been dynoed), yet the article comes out and outrageous numbers are there in big print!

The magazine isn't really about being technically/factually correct. If that's what you are wanting, then look elsewhere...

Baseline dyno was 290 at the wheel, and we continued to dyno the vehicle after each performance modification. Eurotuner knows printing every dyno sheet probably wouldn't get more subscriptions, in addition, there will always be someone to throw the bs flag. After doing this for several years, I have come to realize that even if you laminate the dyno sheet and keep it in your vehicle, there will always be someone who will not believe the print.
Unfortunately, I do not have any intention to have a huge get together with all the nay sayers with my car on a dyno so they can get a warm and fuzzy about the numbers.
Maybe the next BMW I build will have a video documentary of each dyno posted on U-tube so these threads will cease...and maybe not. I thank Sam for the title, cause like Katt Williams says "let haters hate, what else are they gonna do"
