Fields BMW, Mods & You

Hey folks .. got a quick question ...

Anyone have any issues with warranty work at Fields BMW in Winter Park (or the JYP Service center) with modified cars? Specifically chipped/exhaust/intake/etc 335s?

I know some dealers are uber picky about stuff like that, but never got anything like that from Fields .. would like to know people experiences though before I mod away .. thanks!

Fields is a large busy dealer. Anything to kick your ass out the door and get to the cars that make them more money is going to be used. They would rather chance getting you to pay out of pocket or lose the work (because they have a ton more lined up) then get paid BMW rates for your warranty work.

When did you get a 335?

So you've had experiences with them being picky, or know people that have?

No 335 yet .. but soon

Just wondering if I chip it, should I worry about pulling it out for oil service or whenever it goes to the dealer .. I have no problem doing this, but if it's not necessary I'd rather not bother

Ferman. Talk to Fred Ratner (his office right next to the front desk). Tell him Sean sent you. He knows who you should talk to if you want to chip your car. They've installed AA and all that. He's all for it.

I haven't chipped my car yet but I've done just about everything nix lowering (going to be done at the end of this month) and chip. I've had 4 different BOV's on my car, BMS intake, 3 sets of wheels and tires, 3 different lips, 2 rear trunk lips, my trunk has a custom setup that's fitted to the trunk and can't be removed, etc etc.

I've had everything I've taken and said that was 'messed up' about the car fixed and given a loaner. They have never complained or told me otherwise. The tech's love my bov (which is no longer on the car).

JB3 can't be detected unless they actually remove all of the parts to get to it.

I'm about to get my LM-R's, and H&R's installed by the end of the month then next is chip and i'm done.

Thanks man .. that was what I expected .. I've never had any problems with Fields .. usually deal with Brian Mennihan (sp?) .. I don't think they'd pull the computer cover off if you bring it in for an oil change, but ya never know .. they always seem like they are so busy, that they wouldn't have time to dick around with stuff like that
