Sirius Radio Install

Has anyone gotten the Sirius radio installed? The radio has been available for several weeks but dealers haven't had the programming instructions to set-up.

Refer your dealer to the "RoundTable Discussion of June 16" the slides ( available to them on SIB 100 06 05) explain exactly how they must download onto a disk the software needed for installing the Sirius radio

I have a friend who has done this in the USA and it wrks perfectly

I paid for the Satellite Radio when I bought the car, so the dealer owes it to me (installed). Last I heard it is available and they should be ablel to get it in for me soon. No real rush just yet... until Howard moves over!

May I ask what the dealer charged for the install, I have one on order. How long should it take them.

I preferred factory install, but there were not too many of those produced when they were looking for mine. I was too impatient to factory order. They found mine on the ship - but I did insist on the pre-wiring. That's why I just worked it into the price, and they will install it when they get it. I doubt there will be any difference at all.

The instructions say the physical installation should be 1 Hour, then they have to get the software and install it

The installation was thrown in as part of a prior deal with the dealer. Sorry I can't help on this one! E90Fleet says it should be charged at 1 hour labor though.

I think most of us here have the factory pre-wiring (satellite prep). This discussion is about installation with pre-wiring already there.
