V3 Firmware Install
I have searched on this forum and google but and I can't seem to find the solution to my problem...I have V2 and I'm upgrading to V3 PnP harness. No prob with install of procede harness. I am having trouble UPDATING the V3 Firmware. Downloaded and its a zip file and now the .bin extraction file does not seem to work. I have tried Magic ISO and Alcohol 120% but they don't seem to work. So now I have V3 installed but no firmware to run it...please help. Thanks in advance!!

Don't start the engine. You have to have the car turned on(fuel gauge working) without starting the motor. Basically hit the start button twice without using the brake or clutch. Then you can go online and update it.

Anyway, I finally go the right map and my fob and WOW....nice and with the Forge DV really makes a difference. I also added DCI today so all in all VERY HAPPY. Engine definitely sounds louder with the DCI. I like it alot. Thanks again for your help!! |

It's hard to tell a huge difference. I am planning on playing with the springs. Right now I have the green (0-15 psi) spring in. I do notice that it is quicker on throttle response but not quite night and day as some have implied. Either way, it also helps with longevity of the car and I plan on keeping my car for a long time. Maybe the yellow spring is a more noticeable thing. I will play around with that and the spacer on the green spring, but I'm not expecting huge differences. I would say the best part is that it seems to respond more like a V8 N/A car with them with less lag when pressing the accelerator. If I wasn't thinking about it I wouldn't notice them in everyday driving. I mainly noticed them on spirited runs of braking into turns and then WOT again as you exit. I drove about 150 miles today since installing everything.

Thanks will play around with it tomorrow. Actually I think they recommend the weakest spring your tune would allow. I have read ALOT of threads about it recently and bottom line is that the guy from Forge recommends the green but says either will be fine. Thinking about "splitting the difference" and putting a spacer in with the green spring. Will let you know how it plays out...

Post #26. I will be playing around a bit on my own though to see if I agree with you that yellow is best. I know most people are running yellow. |
