I think i blew out my passenger speaker?

I was driving today and whenever the bass would come on in the right speaker it would rattle like no other, is it blown out? I made an appointment to bring it in, but was just wondering what it was?

Most likely blown out. Also maybe something, such as a screw, may have dislodged and is rattling on top of the cone.

I'd have to hear it to know for sure, but it sounds likely that it's blown. What do you have your bass setting at?

did you overpower it or something? how did it happen? if it happened by itself, i would imagine the warranty would cover it. i'm not sure how they would go about it though.

good luck and let us know what happens.

Heres the story, yesterday I didnt drive to school because i was leaving early to go to the Marlins game (dont flame), so today I get in the car in the mourning and hear a rattle/vibrating buzzing noise, i checked the clip for my garage door opener, and it wasnt that, so I turned the radio up a little, it got worse. Then i turned the radio off to test to see if it was the car not the speaker. No noise, so i narrowed it down to being the speaker, then i had to figure out which speaker, it was, changed the balance, forward back, and narrowed it down to the front right speaker. Not a clue how it happend, i dont "blast" my music but i listen to it loud but no where near the max.

Maybe it's just a loose connection because you said you heard buzzing sounds. I don't think a blown speaker would cause buzzing it sounds more like cracking or flapping during the lower tones.

Ok same thing happened to me the first time they said the door panel was a little loose so they used velcro and they said they fixed it....but I still heard the rattle so I bought it back in and they ran a test and repleced the speaker at no charge. It was also my front passenger seat bass speaker. And yes I play my music loud at times.

it could be the front seat bass because it only happens when there is bass.

I've already replaced rear passenger speaker once.
However, it's buzzing again, especially with high pitch radio.
Getting it replaced again next Monday.
Yes, it is definately covered under the warranty.

this sounds stupid, but bake sure there isn't a pice of paper over the speaker under the passenger seat... that's happened to me. Sounds just like a blown unit.

Don't feel stupid. I had already made the appointment to have BMW check the thing out when my friend suggested looking under the seat Glad I could be of some assistance!

I have the same problem coming from the passenger door speaker. Same rattling and buzzing that is driving me insane. Any thoughts?
