Can I still bring back my E90, I want the Sports Pkg PLS READ AND HELP

Bought our 2008 328i on Aug 31. My wife was the one who inquired and requested a quote for one with Premium Package. It was a spur of the moment when we bought it and we were told that that was the last day of the special 0.9% promo. When we got to the dealer, we were only shown/offered one car and I was not given proper information about the sport package that I have asked for. There were no other offers, option or package presented. It was a great time to buy w/ 0.9% financing and features like auto trans, premium pkg, ipod adapter with sticker price of $38,600 but end getting it for $35, 400. Bought the GAP ins and 100K mi warranty too (is this transferrable to another vehicle?). The car had 23 miles on it when we got there and I think they wanted to sell it badly, heck, it didn't even have the plastic covers on the carpet. The sticker on the window was taken out too. I'm not a picky buyer but for a major purchase like this, I feel that I should have been given enough information.

Every day I spend a lot of time thinking why did I buy it without the sport package. I'm not into modding my ride but I will be happier if things were done my way.

Is there anything I can do to bring back my car and have the dealer give me another one with same features PLUS sport package which I'm willing to pay $1,700 to get it. I have tinted my back windows ($200) and only drove 350 miles in 24 days.

Any input/suggestion is appreciated, PLEEEEEAAASE HELLLPPPPP!!!!

If you ask nicely, I feel that they will let you bring back your car and get the one that you want.
Actually if you say "Pretty please with sugar on top" they might even give you a 335 for the price of a 328.

Sounds like you're out of luck. The dealer will have no interest in taking the car back (without you taking a major hit that is) as the car is now a "used" car and they would have even more issues selling it. I guess the real question is why did you buy it without doing the proper research? Honestly at this point your best option is to get some upgraded wheels and some lowering spring if you want the sport package look, of course you won't have the sport seats though.......

I think you're stuck. They can more easily sell a new one the way you would have wanted it than the one you currently own, so there is no incentive to take yours back. They obviously wanted to move that one off the lot, and I'm sure they are in no hurry to get it back, unless you knock at least $5K off the price you paid for it. You can cite customer satisfaction all you want, but there aren't too many dealers that will put that above their bottom line. I could be wrong, but...

It would probably be cheaper to suck it up and pay for the mods to bring your car to "sports pack spec" or beyond, than to take the hit on selling it, and turning around and paying substantially more than you did for the car the way you want it. You would also end up paying sales tax twice. Ouch.

Good luck.

I agree. You should never make a large purchase without having all the information.

That is your responsibility...to do the research. Not the dealer. They are selling you what they have on the lot. If you wanted something in particular...that should have been priority, not the financing rate you got.

Now you are stuck having a car that may not have all the options you wanted....but hey, at least you are paying them 0.9% for it.

Impulse buy...will always lead to

What dealer was this? East Bay BMW? My friend went there to see a CPO car recently that they thought had certain options and when they got there after a 45 minute drive the car turned out to not be as described. I think in youre situation though you're going to be out of luck...

$2-3K? Not a chance, especially today. Try $5-7K in this economy

But as everyone else said, it's your car now. You can upgrade the wheels to 18s and put on better springs/shocks/struts, but there's no cost effective way to get the sports seats.

Of course you can do it. But he already stated he is not into modding.

1. need sports suspension--> easy. H&R + Koni Yellow vs Coilovers
2. sports steering wheel/airbag--> easy but can get a little $$. Worth it though.
3. sports wheels...any aftermarket of course will do.
4. sports seats...this one is the killer. Big difference b/w ZSP and non-ZSP IMO. Not sure what the cost is for this one.

As said before, your better off putting the suspension seats and wheels on your own, it will be cheaper than taking it back to the dealer for a car with the sports package...

FYI - i love my sport package..looks way better than the regular 3 series..

Shoot sorry man... a car is not a great thing to buy spur of the moment.

You can retrofit the sport package but it will be a lot of $$$

I am going to stereotype a little bit, but the fact that you got the automatic transmission suggests you aren't REALLY into driving, and therefore are unlikely to notice the benefits of the sport package.

Get some used sport package wheels or aftermarket wheels and 99.9% of people (including you) will never notice you didn't get the sport package. In increased grip from the wider tires and the added ride stiffness from the stiffer side wall is all a typical casual user will notice from the sport package anyway

Yup. Like those F1 drivers. Don't believe they would know what to do with a clutch anymore.

The car has been titled and has 350 miles on it. It is a used car now. Trading it in on a new car would cost some $$$. Drive it and get a feel for the car. The $1700 you saved on the sport package will get you some suspension and wheel/tire upgrades. Don't feel bad though. You got a good deal on a great car.

hey , if you find out how to return for no loss, tell me. I want to return mine also for Comfort access and sport pkg. and I know why I bought my car without waiting for them to find me one. Its because of the 0.9% interest. I think thats why you bought your car also. I went in on the last day of the month and couldn't wait.

We're talking about an automatic transmission equipped 328 here. SOME automatic transmissions (like the DCT in the EVO X MR) do offer tangible performance advantages, but the automatic gearbox in the 328 is not one of them.
