I've heard that 18" all seasons or snows won't fit on the 162 rims on the 335xi, because the tires have to be low profile. Simple question - is this true? If not, what AS or snow tires work with a 335xi on 162s?

i'd check w/ what the dealer would set u up with in the way of all seasons all around, then w/ that info check w/ "the tire rack for a better price. post your results. i also have a 335xi w/ a sports package. i live in MD. and will need to also think about an all season switch too.

I have a set of 17 sport package wheels w/ all seasons on them as well, so I'm considering putting those back on.. however, I LOVE the 162s. They REALLY make the car. The 17" OEM sport package wheels look like they belong on a Honda Accord.

I'm considering Blizzak LM-25s, but I don't want to order them if there are going to be potential issues..

you can buy snow tires in a low profile....whoever told you that was talkin BS...
im running blizzacks lm25's in 225/40/18 front and rear on staggered 18". the rear wheel is 9" so the 225 is stretched. no problems.

you should run the thinnest tire possible in terms of width so 225 is better than 235 or 245, all of which are available on the blizzacks, dunlop winter 3d, nokians, hankooks, etc..

dont forget you will need tpms also since you are in the USA. otherwise you'll have the flashing dash light all winter long

yep you sure can do a search, I am going to run the same profile all around on my 18's the rears will just be "stretched" a bit

I went aftermarket and put staggered Beyern Mesh 18" wheels on and mounted Goodyear Eagle F1 all seasons. Just be sure you get wheels with the correct offsets...

I had the F1 all seasons on a couple previous cars and was very happy in all conditions....

I had 18in snow tires on my car (same size as OEM) and they worked GREAT.

I got Hankook W300 Ice Bears. $850 for all 4 tires installed

All you need is get the same size winter tires as you have now on your set of wheels, which I believe is 225/40/18 and 255/35/18. You can also get 225/40/18 all around, even though your rear rims are 8.5" wide vs. 8" on the front, most tires can "stretch" a bit to fit.

I have Dunlop Winter Sport 3D on my xi, and they were great in winter.

If you have very heavy snow in your area, then winters are highly recommended. Otherwise, if it's very light snow that is not frequent (and your area's temp is not very low), then all-seasons should be ok.

They worked great last weekend. Car was like on rails through 6 inches of snow.

I have 235/40/18 Dunlop Winter Sport 3D's ready to go on all four of my 162's for my Xi. Look like (n)ice tires. Picked the slightly bigger 235's to fit the 8.5 rear width a little better. Well leave these on the rims year round and get a lighter wheel set for my non-RFT performance tires next spring.

im looking to get these tires, thats great to hear. i dont think i need to spend the extra 300 for true winter tires considering we dont get dumped on with snow and if we did i wont be driving in it anyway.
