Windshield replacement in Boulder/Longmont

Hey all,

I'm trying to decide on where to have my windshield replaced. Do any of you have good/bad experiences you'd be willing to share?
Thanks

I always go with Elite. Never had a problem with them. And they're also mobile whoch makes it nice.

Mine just recently cracked as well. So let me know if you find a good place, Alex .

I've usually used Elite in Boulder, but can't say they're particularly good or bad, just that they are mobile and quick. My last one I got done at *gasp* schomp because they owed me some other service and were willing to deal with my insurance, but I don't think they did any better.

If you find anywhere particularly impressive I would be interested in knowing as well, it seems I get amazing luck at getting chips that splinter on impact...

Just scheduled with Safelite/Elite at their location in Highlands Ranch because I am working down here with a client. I want to see the glass ~before~ it's put on. Using "Solar", but not "Solar Coated" glass. We'll see how it goes. Interestingly enough the sales guy pitched they have done over 150 335i's at that location since 2009, which makes me wonder if Schomp sends their cars to that location.

If I recall correctly Geico has a partnership with Safelite and sends all their claims there unless otherwise requested. I remember when Schomp set up my replacement the guy gave a different name, but it wasn't familiar to me.

Quick review: quality of install is pretty good, no complaints (but no rain or wash to test the seals yet). The windshield itself, which I inspected before it was installed, is actually 'meh'. I couldn't tell beforehand but the shaded part at top of the windshield is kinda lame, not as dark as OEM and it does not come down as low, maybe 4" instead of 6". The shade barely comes down to the bottom of the rear view mirror attachment section. Like I said, couldn't tell when it was off the car but I DEFINITELY notice it driving into an October sun.

$442.65 out the door. Again, that was the "Solar" glass, and not "Solar Coated". There was an option to do both for another $100, so that would put it north of $500. Maybe I should have done that, because it seems really bright. I don't know. Swear that glass looked identical to original when it was off, and wonder if that coating is missing.
