wheel spacers, CF grilles, scoops, and questions, etc.
hi everybody, i just purchased some exterior mods for my e90.
1. 5mm wheel spacers and bolts from ECS Tuning 2. CF grilles from Adamaster 3. scoops from D1swoop also, i was experimenting which looks better... - smoked headlight overlay? or none? - CF front splitter? or none - should i color my rims (maybe black)? or leave it as it is (too much silver)? Preparation for the install of the overlays and grilles. I took off my CF front splitter also (just trying some "new look"). good thing i only used 3M tape and stock bolts. the scoop's install was easy. i used my stock screws (no drilling) and fit perfectly. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() My install with ECS tuning wheel spacers. Good quality and perfect fit with matching bolts. i had to clean the rust spots on my hub and applied some antiseize lubrication. Painted also the bolts to black to have that OEM look. ![]() No rubbing and rolling fender with eibach prokit/19x9.5 w/ 30 offset and 5mm spacer. ![]() ![]() Must have tool when replacing shoes. bought at ebay for $5 and its worth it. no troubles looking for the holes. ![]() and here's the AFTER pictures. not really sure if i want to re-install the CF front splitter. the CF grilles and the CF side mirrors blends with light color cars (i dont know about the front splitters). im thinking about powder coating or painting my rims. what do you guys think about all-black including the lip? thanks in advance... ![]() smoked overlays or not? ![]() ![]() ![]() Last edited by sgt_gman2005; 10-05-2008 at 11:16 AM. |

too easy, just have a spray bottle with dawn and water. its like a wet sticker and stick it on your headlights. make sure your headlights are clean and do the installation inside a garage to avoid dust and "sandpaper look". have a hairdryer or heatgun ready for heat shrink and drying purposes.
or just go to a tint shop and give him $10 for the install... Last edited by sgt_gman2005; 10-05-2008 at 11:23 AM. |

Wow, nice job. Keep the overlays, install the splitters. Your bike is perfect!

thanks i think the 5mm spacer is close without rubbing in a 19x9.5 30offset. maybe 8mm will be good also but not 10mm. show us some pics when you get your bike. buy the sexier 2006+ r6, and not my old body style 2003-2005 r6. wait till you buy it next year, soon theyll be bringing out new body style r6 again, hopefully next year since the new r1 came out already.
