Who only gets bird sht on their car right after a detail?

Someone should contact Myth Busters about this...

So far, EVERY TIME after I detailed my bimmer, I would get a fresh dropping on the same day. Yes, I do garage the car and it's not my DD, but I do drive it frequent and far. Hell, last time I made a 4-day round trip from the bay to LA and back without a single drop, just a lot of dead bugs. This is just stupid and ridiculous. I always have a bottle of glass cleaner, detail spray, and all purpose cleaner 4oz in size and MF in my trunk to handle sht (literally) like this.

This time I got lucky, but last time some stupid bird etched into my clear and that's only after 20 minutes (wasn't there when I got into the car and saw it and cleaned it when I saw it 20 minutes later). Luckily I have all I need and the know how to fix it and wasn't deep. But damn, what kind of bird sht would etch into clear within 20 minutes!

Is it just me or what?

Birds may be attracted to the shine. If I had the arsenal volume (and ability, ofcourse), I'd shit on a shiny airplane.

Do you carry a little "deltail emergency pack" in your car? Just curious. I carry these little bottles I got from Detailed Image that I fill with simple stuff like QD, bug solvent, glass cleaner, a few mf and glass towels....stuff like that.

A real disaster…..
I detailed my M3 to take friends out for their 5th wedding anniversary. I drive up to the restaurant in Dana Point, CA and ask the valet if I can park the car some place. “Sure just put it near the end of the lot and leave the key.” So I pick a nice location and off to dinner. After dinner I take the valet out to my car for a lesson to show him how to use the M-DCT transmission. We pull up in front of the restraint to pickup my wife and friends. I walk around to the passenger side WHAT!!!! The great blue herons that we had been watching during dinner covered the passenger door and quarter panel.

Short drive home and I wash off the car about 9:00 pm. Then I decide that a little drive will dry the car faster (any excuse to drive the new car). About two blocks later BAM! on the carbon fiber roof that sounds like a brick, I pull over to check and there is only more water on the roof, but the “roof rack attachment door is missing”!! So I make a U-turn and go back to where I was hit, you guessed it with a water balloon from high on a hill side. There were many broken balloons on the street and still more flying from up high. I called the police (who did not show) and searched in the dark for the “attachment door”.

About $90.00 later… I had to order the filler strip and clips for the driver side. I found the “attachment door” with out the hinge pins the next morning; it was sheared off by the water pressure. I will post pictures and procedure after changing in the M3 DIY section.

not really a 'detail emergency pack'. I just have these 4oz bottles spray from Adam's Polishes.

Don't feel bad shit happens to me as well, no pun intended. lol Although I'd rather the bird take a shit on my car than go crazy on my paint with it's fu*cking claws. I swear every time I polish everything out and get it looking great there has to be one bird that jumps on my car. Then slips everywhere due the it being smooth and scratches up the clear once again. I swear if i could take them out with a BB gun with out hurting my car I would.

I would return with a bow and arrow. I would then precede to dip the ends in gasoline, light them on fire and launch them up the hill at the little pricks.

A kid with a BB gun shot out the back window of my moms Explorer when I was younger. It happened at night and the cop who came said a bird must have hit the window and shattered it . My mom and I found the BB in the trunk the next day.

"Bee pooh" is actually from those little brown birds that flitter all over everywhere. Often I'm detailing mine in the carport, get done, take a nice look around, and find some little yellows. The birds fly through the carport to get to some trees near the back of the house, and . . .
