I'm in love ! My new AW 2009 3-series sedan (LCI facelift) ! Lots of pics !
I finally got my 335i 3-series facelift sedan in Alpine White !
Let me start by saying "Oh My God !"...this is what I said when I first saw my car at the dealer. Its much, much more beautiful in person than in the pictures that are going on the Internet...especially in white ! I tried to capture some of that beauty in my pictures I like it alot more than the coupe. I drove from Germany to Romania in 2 days (1800km) and I almost completed the break-in. I cannot describe how good this car is. The car is gorgeous, the engine is fantastic, the car feels rock solid, the suspension is not stiff at all even with the M Sport package (as I was led to believe)...its close to perfect ! The audio system, which is the default Hi-Fi system (in US) is incredible. Its very linear and the bass is astounding ! I think they changed something for 2009 year, otherwise I couldn't imagine why it sounds so much better than my colleague's system on a 2006 330i. If you have questions about the car (features, how it feels under different situations, etc.), please post them in this thread. Edit (more details added): About me: this is the first BMW I have ever drove, and before this I drove basic cars like 2005 Renault Megane and 2008 Fiat Bravo. So please take my enthusiasm with a grain of salt About the car features: The interior is the standard M Sport Alcantara/cloth combo with anthracite headliner and I love it ! I forgot to take more interior pics but I will take some pictures tomorrow. The new iDrive is absolutely fantastic and thank you forum members who convinced me to add it to my list of options ! The car would surely be "empty" without it. If you are planning to buy, strongly consider iDrive ! I beg you ! . The sound system is brilliant, I have never listened to something better in a car but beware, I am not experienced with car audio but I am experience with high-performance indoor audio equipment. The sound is tuned for the car, very crisp bass, very clean sound. I did not try very high volumes but I think I tried it to 70% and no distortion. For me, its great, I wouldn't need something else. The high beam assistant and comfort access are brilliant features and they work very well. If it wasn't for the adaptive xenons and high beam assistant I couldn't drive for 14-16 hours straight like I did... The engine: I didn't knew how a 300hp twin-turbo engine would be, I expected dragster-like pull but beware, its not (actually, its kind of like when a plane takes off ) It pulls very strongly though, and the sound ! The sound is brilliant, its not like in the videos on YouTube, its much deeper, I love it ! I wouldn't mind if it would be a bit louder, but the exhaust is just like a brilliantly tuned music instrument. I wouldn't change the exhaust because I think BMW spent alot of time on tuning it and it sounds exceptional. No turbo lag whatsoever ! The suspension: I was truly worried (based on my reading of reviews/forums) that the suspension would be too stiff for our bad Romanian roads, but nothing further from the truth. The bumps are muted nicely and the car feels like its not doing any big effort to get over the bumps. I like very much te 17" wheels, the new 1" wider track really shows off at the back axle, the wheel arches are filled very nicely (partly due to the lowered M Sport suspension). I wouldn't change them because they seem ideal for a correct suspension setup for normal driving. Fuel consumption: I averaged about 8l/100km (30mpg ?) on the road home (1200km highway and about 500-600km normal roads and mountain roads, 30-40km in the cities) (I reset the counter 3 times). The car almost always indicates that you should be in 6th gear, it "wants" to go at 1600RPM The fuel consumption is little short of unbelievable for such a powerful engine. Driving on mountain roads: After 1500km of driving on mostly highways, I had to pass some mountains This was my favorite part. I never exceeed 3500RPM (break-in) but even so the car pulled very strongly on uphill roads and also in the curves it is unbelievable how planted it feels. No understeer whatsoever (I didn't push it to the limit because of the break-in and also I am afraid of driving very aggressively ) Steering: its HEAVY ! Lucky me that I do amateur bodybuilding, I think a girl would have a hard time turning the steering wheel without Active Steering, and also changing gears is seriously heavy (can it be because of the break-in period ? However, I like it !). Changing gears has a very pleasant feel you feel that you are in control, I would not get an automatic ever ! But the gear change is not 100% precise (I don't mind this). However, the throws are short with the M Sport knob. I wouldn't want shorter throws than these. And some pictures which I am sure many of you are waiting ! beautiful!!!!! I too, just picked up my Alpine White 2009 E90 335i. Are your wheels stock, or an upgrade? Mine are stock and totally different. Also I have a reflector on the forward front wheel well area, like the coupe. Maybe the differences from US specs to European specs?????
I came out of a 2007 E90 335i, and this puppy rocks. Loving the new I-drive. |

The front and rear bumpers are different, suspension is different (harder and 15mm lower), he also gets M steering wheel, M shift knob, different rims and interior options are different as well. The corner deflectors are for US models. |

Awesome car man. Need more pics of interior.
How come if you have sport pkg your tires are not low profile? Seems your tires almost look like balloon tires (more thickness from rim to ground) this is why I am sure you are getting better ride comfort as you mentioned it's not harsh. I like your rims and tires, great change from all the super low profile tires where the rims are riding on the ground. |

Thank you for your appreciation of the car !
I have updated the original post with more information and answers to most of your questions. I always felt that the real-life pictures of the facelifted sedan were not showing its true beauty and I tried to capture the best possible angles in my pictures. |

I noticed that the car has a factory-fitted light-greenish tint (which I like especially because the car is white, it saves me from trying to tint the car lightly like I was thinking)...does someone know, does this tint come by default on all cars ? Or only european cars ? Or only on cars of certain color ?
