A Bimmette Video: How to Change Oil on a 335i

I finally changed my own oil. Here's a simple DIY video for other noobs.

Great vid as always Tara! Three quick suggestions:
  • First, you didn't put the large O ring in the right place on the filter lid thread. Compare its position with the old O ring in your vid before you removed it.
  • Next time it's worth removing the old oil that accumulates inside the filter housing (use a syringe).
  • And lastly, I think your engine's leaking oil. Your sump was pretty drenched in oil when you accessed the drain plug.

Oh, I was wondering about the large o-ring! Thanks!

Ok, great tip about the syringe.

No, I stupidly turned on my car after I had loosened the cap which caused some oil to leak out prior to me filming.

loved it when you said pull it out, and you made breaking the drain plug loose look so easy...i normally bust a knuckle and curse a few times then take a break.
