DCT Shiftknob Mod... not for the faint of heart

I had bought this shiftknob back in April, but finally got the chance to pick it up from my tune shop. Anyways.... Here's a MAJOR TEASER THREAD. I didn't try to take anyone's thunder away(Ironic) he worked hard on it. I did get some DIY help from Kaji as well but it was difficult to play with this one. but I got this so far.

GET READY... enjoy... this is all for now.. I'll be finishing up the project at SonicMS after SEMA.

PS: sorry for the poor quality pics. I had to snap them with my camera phone as my ass has not invested in a DSLR.

Looks like a fun project. It'd look great if you can couple it to the new shift plate for the non-M DCT cars.

thanks Kev, I'm thinking about that but then I'd have a spot for the sport button which wont have any functions. I'll look into that shortly after they hit the parts bin. I wanted to see if it's possible to wire the "P" parking button to turn DTC ON and OFF. Still tinkering with it.

I'm just thinking if you have a tune, you can possibly wire that sport button to the map switch so that you can go from low boost to high boost

The Rix Boost Gauge has that feature. soon to be installed. got that in the mail yesterday. I think I'm just looking for cosmetic mods now. Mtech rear should be in soon. contemplating M3 mirrors and DCT paddles.

I wish I had done this sooner. so it wouldn't be a DCT mod. this knob is originally ordered with the '08 650i part #. so for those who want it now.. you're welcome.

Not too fond of the green. Are you keeping it that color?

green is the OEM color. I dont want to fiddle with changing that. I just want it to light up when I put it into gear.
