Used Porsche maybe?

P knowledge people please chime in. Ghosts with this model? It does have the a/c unit from the factory.

04 GT3. 14,600 miles. Asking $64,000. I think this is a solid price with great miles. I just need some feedback regarding Pros/Cons if you have any.

I am looking at every car on the planet to fill the hole in the garage....keep coming back to Porsche. ...ever since I was a kid thing I guess.

This quote is what I like to read. Old school baby! No traction or stabilty control is fine with me.

The Porsche 911 GT3 may have an old school character, but at maximum performance, it's pure cutting edge. It delivers an unmatched, pure Porsche driving experience on both the highway and the raceway, as long as you keep your eyes on the road and an extra-firm grip on the wheel.

Beautiful Car! I can't say anything for the MkII 996 GT3, but I had a 996 Carrera with the factory MkI GT3 body kit and I loved it! It was flawless and had no issues other than the cheap interior.

Cheap as in kind of stark or cheap as in rattles?
I do not like "gadgets" so this clean interior is my style.

Only 14,000 miles. For a 4-year old GT3 that's great. It looks like a great deal.

Its definitely not practical. You will lose a lot of comfort and everyday ability that oridinary cars come with.

-The statement above should be trashed if you are a performance enthusiast. If I were you, I wouldn't hesistate to buy it. Though that'd be only if I was in a good enough situation to buy one without worrying too much about maintenance and practical abilities. It would be a great weekend/second car in the garage. also for a little weekend date with a hot girl and watch valet parking guys sucking up to you for more tips.

I remember this car from months ago when I was trying to sell my Cayman S for GT3. Great choice, but get a DME overrev log from a dealer, they range from 1-3 for this model, any 3's and you should pass. They have a bulletproof rep for being a great great track car and prices have been dropping. If you track it stay away from Gen 1 PCCB brakes or swap to steel rotors and Pagids. Used GT3s are usually either garage queens or track whores and priced as such.

Pretty much the only 996 I would considering owning long-term. The interior isn't great, but the engine is passed on the 993 block and doesn't have the RMS and IMS issues of the other 996 models. It has an aggressively-tuned ride, and I wouldn't get one as a daily driver. Bear in mind my daily driver is a Z4 M Coupe, so when I write that I ain't whistling Dixie.

Thanks guys.
No, it would not be my DD. More of a long term keeper toy. I go through cars like crazy but have come to a mind set of getting a fast semi practical classic and keeping it.
Pass it down to a nephew when I am brittle and have trouble getting out of the car.

Is the ride that rough? I am used to a tractor style ride and kind of like it. A sedan or plush coupe will be next to it down the road but I have my priorities.

consolidated: I would do all my homework on this model. Either this one or any other GT3. A lot of the buyers of this car get it and then realize they may have bought the wrong car. Fingers crossed.

EDIT: I have read pages of reviews on the 04 GT3. This may be too much or too little car for me depending on how you look at it. Just about every review had the driver pointed the wrong way fairly often. I am too old for that kind of "fun". Carrera S may be more better suited for an adrenaline junky who is not at the track.

P cars are fantastic. I had a Boxster for 3 years and didn't have a single problem with the car the entire time.

That being said, when I was looking at Porsche's I did drive a 911 as I really wanted a 911 vs. a Boxster. It was a 996 and I could physically feel that the back end was heavy and when pushed it became more apparent. When I drove the Boxster, it was so well balanced and more confidence inspiring.

This 996 GT3 does have the better engine as someone pointed out earlier. This car is not for the faint hearted. It is a raw driving experience and demands respect. You can't start to push the car and not pay attention. You could do a suspension and that would help out tremendously, but I'm not sure how you feel abou modifying your car.

Go out and drive a 997. They are much more stable and may be more of what you're looking for. The interior is definitely nicer in the 997, but there are many small buttons. Overall, it's a better car for sure.

If you're looking for a toy that is a blast at even 5/10's rather than driving really hard at 9/10's to get a thrill - look into a Lotus Elise. Just drive one and you'll understand.

Wow that sure sounds great! If you can afford it, go for it!!!
You can tell stories about the GT3 for several generations on how cool it was to drive it without all those ESP and shit!

Cheap as in cheap plastics, etc. I think it did have one or two rattles, but nothing too bad. The GT3 probably has a nicer interior than the standard carrera so I don't think that will be an issue. I had a '99.
