"Shaken Car Syndrom"

Hi Guys,

Just a little question to verify:

Last weekend I was driving on the highway. My avg. was between 140 - 200 Km/h.

Suddenly the car started to shake quite a bit and two warning lights switched on. One that indicated maintenance required and another one that there was an engine problem.

Car made quite a bit of noise and kept shaking. When I pressed the gas pedal the car did not provide a bit of the initail power it should be able to deliver. After I stopped I turned the engine of and started it again afterwards.

Engine was functioning normal again and I could continue my journey. One thing that changed was that I noticed when the car was in neutral it now and then had an hickup.

I'm thinking myself that I have just joined the HPFP party... and this has been reported by others...

What do you think about this?

Thanks,

Rismo

Could do, but before I take all my modifications off, I prefer to know if this is related to a potential HPFP issue or maybe something else...

And as there have been many people with issues around the HFPF they could maybe tell me if they have experienced the same...

looks like a simple question to me... correct me if I'm wrong..

Which map are you running?
I had the same problem once cruising at 240 to 270 Km/h (above governor). with the latest map 11.14 it didn't happen again.

I would have the dealer test your fuel pump. If it turns out not to be the fuel pump you might want to look into changing your spark plugs. What your describing sound like a limp mode caused by a misfire with fuel cut off. I had that happen to me before. If you have more then 15k miles on your car with a tune you may want to change your spark plugs. However without reading the trouble codes from your OBDII we are just speculating. Good luck

Thanks!

I have 30k in KM on the car, with 25 of them with a tune.
The bad part is that my c-reader does not function correctly. I probably gonna order a new one this week. Check the error codes (Should I still be able to see them?, even now the limp mode is gone?)
And make a decision based on the to either replace my spark plugs or go the dealer during the next weekend without all the tunes...

+1. Hiccups, shaking, almost stalling at a red light...your HPFP is going bad! Go to the dealer and have them check it out; you may also have some misfires due to a bad spark plug or two as well.
