My white E92

Well, seeing as I'm going to be keeping this car for a while and I will be changing bits along the way, I thought I'd make a thread.

I bought a 320d in September last year with 54k and one owner from new completely standard.

As you can see straight away I changed the rear diffuser for a jet black one and gave the car a quick spruce up.

After a month or so I noticed that I had the common cracked rear wheel. After looking on ebay for a good wheel, never found one, I just decided to change the wheels. I got a set of brand new CSL reps with falken tyres on ebay for 680 so I couldn't refuse.

I don't have any pics of them clean yet

Once they were on I hated the front arch gap so I purchased some front lowering perches to tie me over until I get a suspension set up but I've still not fitted them after 2 months ha.

Start of this year I started to sort the interior Ill post that in a sec

As you might of noticed in one of the other pics I fitted the performance gloss black grills which make the front end look so much better.

So the interior. I was never a massive fan of the silver hex trim so that was first to go. Its been replaced with satin carbon wrapped trim which looks loads better, well I think so anyway

As my standard gearknob was pretty worn I changed that for a genuine BMW Mtech knob and got a suade shifter boot from ebay. Took my time using a hot glue gun sticking the boot onto the old shifter plastic trim and it turned out spotn on.

For some reason it looks purple on the camera in the car

Then last weekend I fitted an M3 steering wheel which feels great.

And that's it for now. Next Ill be sorting out that awful arch gap.

Very tasteful mods - well done. Out of interest...I've been thinking about an M3 steering wheel for a while. Honest opinion - is it really that much different in feel to the MSport wheel?

Really like this. As above would be interested in your thoughts on the m3 wheel.

Thanks for the positive comment.

To be honest their is very little difference, I don't think its any thicker than the Msport. The leather does feel nicer though, wether that's because it's better quality leather or the fact it's not perforated I don't know. It wouldn't be on my list of mods now unless my old wheel was looking tired though. There's much more noticeable things to spend the money on.

I just want it lowered now but I don't know what to go with. I'd like coilovers but I do about 18k a year, mostly motorway miles so would like something comfortable. KW Street comfort are standing out to me at the moment reading a few reviews from the American guys.

What about the Birds (Bilstein I think) setup? I've only heard good things about it but not sure how/if it compares to other aftermarket upgrades.

I've ridden in an E92 with the Birds set-up and the ride was still quite harsh. Thought about Ohlins? Pricey, but very supple.

Was that with non-rf's though? Part of their 'mantra' is their suspension set up with regular tyres.

Yep, with non-RFTs.

I got them from a private seller hence why they were cheap. He bought them from CM wheels I think but never fitted them.

I'm pretty set on coilovers to be honest. I've had a fair few sets in the past on other cars, my last been a civic type r so I know the ride will be stiffer but if I get the right set the damping should be so much better than my Msport shocks. I think it's going to be the KW street comfort but I need to wait a few months for those
