Service time!

Yes, I know.

Bend over and be prepared . . . .

It has taken me over an hour and a half to talk to my nearest 3 dealers.
I'm glad I'm not paying labour rates for the time spent on the phone - and for something as simple as an oil service, MOT and brake fluid. Talk about slow.

The car is just coming up to 3 years old and I want to keep the BMW stamp in the book - foolish I know, but . . .

You may expect some difference in prices for the same thing;

First dealer 160-46
Not bad I thought, although the lady did seem a little distracted

Second dealer (I can do you some discount on the labour rates) 469

Third dealer 577-17

I daren't phone another one in case it goes up even further!!
I may have to call the first one back though

Also check Main Dealer Discount!

If there's nobody close to you, use the prices as a bartering tool or see if they'll price match.

Good luck!

For an average BMW(6 litres oil) I would estimate 180 oil/micro filter ,70 brake fluid,54-60 Mot

Neither bmw-service.co.uk nor Maindealerdiscount give ANY results for my car.

I suspect it's because it's less than 3 years old

I tried both before getting on the phone

Well, I've taken the plunge.

Rightly or wrongly, I took the first quote - confirmed at 160-46
For Oil Service, MOT and Brake fluid change.
Courtesy car too.

Rybrook Shrewsbury

I'm sure Knights and Blue Bell can justify the extra 300-400 for the same jobs, but I'm not going to bother asking them!

That is astonishing considering they charge about £60 for MOT on it's own, u bagged a bargain mate, I don't believe that price could've been bettered by indy's, pays to phone around, great job

So there's no misunderstanding, send them an email and get them to confirm in writing exactly what they'll be doing, split into parts & labour.
