Wanted: 230 Style alloy wheels genuine

I am after a set of these, I have seen 2 on ebay, but both have been refurbed. I don't want to take a risk, as you never know how well they were done.
I prefere a newish set, that came of a car within a few months

Look perfect to me!

Ok, they have been refurbished, but surely thats a bonus. Guy sells wheels regularly, has 100% feedback from other people who have purchased similar wheels.

I doubt you will have any problem at all.

Carlos there still on sale...1200 is ok if the tyres are good/ok.

These look ok...and have Runflat Original Bridgestones on so 5mm might get you 8000 miles if you are lucky, then you are looking at anywhere between 500-1200 for new shoes.

The reason I am after the 230's is because I'm sick of cleaning complecated detailed wheels, the MV's and M5 and Oz wheels I have, all look nice but are a pita to keep clean.

The reason I don't want refurbs is because Im scared they ain't been done properly and after a few weeks/months, they start to flake, chip. I recently bought a refurb set and had lots of grief. Don't fancy going through that again

this might sound strange but they are easy to clean because the spokes are so close together the mitt I have for cleaning the car fits tight in between and you just run it up and down then on to the next spoke I was suprised how easy they are to clean. Much better than standerd to clean

I guess they are a bit easier, but Im a fussy old git. And like the calipers and break disk hubs to be clean as well, at the moment I have to pull the wheels off to do this. Whereas with the 230's there is plenty of space to get your hands in there

I have a set of Genuine E90 18" MV3 if you are interested, never refurbed and no scuffs, you could say they are prefect condition. 700.

Check out my posting if you are interested.

The 230s aren't that quick to clean. You have to clean the inside face of the wheel or it looks pants and the back of the wheel has a drop that is hard to get to when adjacent to the brake and the filth always builds up behind the spoke where it meets the wheel rim.

The 187 Radials (20 spoke) take about the same amount of time but there's more bending down time with them.

+1 - you can only give them a really decent clean if you take them off

The back, inside face of the 187s do not have the same paint and polish finish as the 189s and 230s. If you clean up the inside faces of the 230s they have essentially the same finished surface as the outside of the wheels.

Since you can't really see the inside faces of the 187s, BMW just left them with the raw finish. For open wheels like the 189 and 230, no one would buy them if they had that finish.

Im able to clean my MV3's in/out/behind and the calipers without pulling the wheels off, surely the 230's are going to be easier?I have 18's at the moment, so 19's should be even easier

Just won a pair on ebay, lets hope they are as described.

Will soon have a few sets of wheels to sell

Original MV3's that came with the car, no kurbing at all, with 4x Falken 452's all with 5mm + tread

Oz Botticelli 18" mixed, deep dish rears, with 4 x PS2's runflats 5mm + tread

1 set 18" 9 wide M5 wheels, they were sold as OEM, but as no BMW logo, I'm not sure. Says made in Italy. I have seen them on other Std looking 5 series. No tyres, but in very good cond.

Will take pics, and post proper ads, or just stick em on ebay

hi guys

i bought the above mentioned wheels by redE93cab advertised on ebay last week, which i paid 850 for. had them sent direct to bmw blackburn from where i have purchased a 335d coupe 07 plate. had a phone call from head technician on monday who told me id been done, as the 2 of the wheels were so badly warped that they would not fit and 1 had such a big welding blister that if i go over a pot hole they would smash. spoke to the guy i bought them off and he has had them picked up and says he'll check them out and if what bmw say is true he will refund the money. keeping my fingers crossed.

Ouch! Hope all goes well with that sunnydonc... hopefully the fact you bought off an established trader means you'll get refund or non-dodgy versions....
