$1200... alot of money!

$1,050 was labor, (no 'u' here in the U.S. ) the rest was parts and tax. Not sure of my dealer's hourly rate but its definitely over $100.

you guys spell weird!!

good news for me is that the parts aint that expensive, if you already have heated leathers with modules and switches.

i think i only need the harness and some fuses and also coding...am i right?

as i already have the heated switch along with heated seats?

its just a qusetion how long a tech will take to fit the harness and connect it up??

It was definately a learning process. The Fuse box and right side carpet have to be removed. the harness is approximately 2yrds in length to run along the existing harness.
The parts are very difficult to order correctly as you need to order the individual pins, and I took the time to order the right guage wire and the closest color combination wires to match the OEM specifications. It would be extremely difficult for someone to notice that the seats were not original to the vehicle.
from start-finish it took a little over 7 hours working time to get it done professionally and correctly.

There are very few technicians out there that I know would be willing to tackle something like this. I normally dont continue a job that was started by someone else (liability and reputation reasons), but after seeing the dialogue between Hdrew and the service advisor, I was able to easily determine that he holds high standards to his work as I also hold high standards to my own work.

I replaced my button panel which at the moment only contained the PDC button, with the one above, including putting my PDC button back in the same spot its in now (2nd from the left). Results...

Drivers side heated seats...WORK! No VO coding, nothing else, they just plain work.

Passenger side heated seats - do not work, not even the little lights above the button.

PDC still works, no problem.

So, my car appears to have the proper wiring for heated seats, at least for the drivers side. I have no idea why drivers side works and passenger side doesn't but my next step will be to contact Patry's who I understand is the man for this stuff, to have him add the heated seat VO (494?), and hope that addresses the passenger side. If that works, I'm good. If it doesn't, I'm not sure what else to try except the whole Euro retrofit kit but that seems like extreme overkill for what I already appear to have installed.

Were you able to switch the PDC button onto the heated seat switch without any issues? Is it just a simple popping it in and out? Thanks

No, PDC stayed where it is - 2nd button from the left. I needed to keep my PDC after all. To properly put in the OEM buttons for heated seats (opposite ends of the button panel), I had to order the entire switch panel p/n 61110405003 (about $270 from Tischer, that hurt), which is a toolkit of sorts, with a blank panel that you then plug in either the buttons you need or their equivalent-sized blanks. So for me, it was, from left to right, driver heat button, PDC button, 3 blanks, passenger heat button. From the way the panel is constructed with the led's, and how the buttons are laid out in the kit, its apparent that specific functions have specific locations on the panel.

Ok, Im about to try this mod but I dont want to do the passenger seat. Here are my questions. First off I have a 2009 335i with sport pack and prem pack. All I should need is the memory module, button kit, and pad correct? Also can I just install a blank for the opposite side of the heated seat switch panel where the passenger seat button would go?

maybe a daft question but can you get your car coded before actually retrofitting the heated interior?

i ask this because if i do it myself and get all cabling / wiring out then reassemble it all and then go for coding and realise i've missed something, it'll mean taking it all apart again!

so it would be alot easier to have coding in place before hand so i can trial and error as i go along.

Thank you.

You will need the switches in place before coding, I believe that may be all you need. Once coded, the switches will light up and go off, until the passenger seat is wired correctly.

I read somewhere that at some point BMW started shipping all seats with the heater elements embedded into the seat foam; anyone know if that's true, and a date? If I get the car i'm looking at it's an 08 iDrive, Sport, Prem, but no heated seats.. Would I need to order the elements ?

i take it that this means you get two harnesses, one for drivers and one for passengers with it being a set and only need 1 of it?

can some one actually clarify exactly what you get in this set please???

I have unmounted my old seats and it looks like the heating elements are built-in the seat covers so I'm selling a set of leatherette-black heated covers.

I'm also selling 2 heatseat modules (no memory) + wiring. I'm taking the offers in PM.

Hi

I have just rerofitted heated sports seats to my 2005 E90 which already came with sports seats from factory.

But the side bolsters are not working? any reasons why? how can i get them to work?

I am aware that you can just feed them to a power soprce through the cig lighter but i shouldn't have to do this as my E90 came sport seats in the first instance.

Thanks

Look forward to your replies.

Hi Guys, I'm just new here and have a quick question. I would like to replace my normal, heated seats with lumbarssupport with M-sportseats (heated & electrical adjustment). Will the electrical adjustement work "out of the box" or do I need to make additional changes? Since the current seats are allready heated I take it the heating will work in the new seats just as well.
Greetings from Holland!

No sure about M-sport, but i went from power-heated leather seats to power-heated leather sport seats and it was plug and play. There's a DIY if you want to see pictures, just hit up the search function but it's basically 5 screws for each seat (on the sedan at least, not sure about e92). Just don't forget to disconnect the battery before you unplug them.

It's a great retrofit, the only problem was finding the seats!
