Sad to not see this thread get any attention, but looks great man! Followed you on IG to follow the build and excited to see what follows. Seems like you're pretty knowledgeable and make tasteful upgrades so I might learn a thing or two as I'm picking up my E30 this weekend to build a track rat out of. I've seen enough of the nonsense lately and it was refreshing to see something like this on the forum.

Less weight, more fun... keep shedding

I'm with you. I'd have thought more people would be interested in this. It looks like it's going to be a damn nice track car. Keep posting vids to this thread as you make progress. Best of luck!

Thanks! I appreciate it. E30's are awesome! Less weight, better acceleration, better braking, better cornering, better MPG, less expendables (brake pads, tires, etc). It's already ~500lbs lighter than my E90 335i, but I have more to go.

Me too. I had a 2005 E46 M3 back in 2005 for about 3 years... I'm glad to be back in one.

How come you ended up getting an SMG from a manual e90? I heard the SMG pumps go bad often.
