I don't use paper towel any more, following an accident on my old E36 which resulted in a scratched boot!

I suppose it depends on the quality of the towel!

Get that sh*t of ASAP. My car got hit the other day, sometime during the work day-I noticed it when I got home, cleaned it off right away using quick detailer and microfiber towel, but it was too late. I now have nicely etched clear coat in the shape of the crap spots on my trunk lid.

I rubbed it out with the myriad of products I keep on hand, but it is still there and you can see it at the right angle. Probably have to be wet sanded to get it out completely.
