LOL....looks like Im going to have to find one with NAV probably. I know I can figure out the controls in no time, I just wasnt sure if you could do much with it besides the nav and such.

But...for Ipod use I just use playlists or shuffle now in my car, so that might not matter, but it doesnt have bluetooth for non-idrive? I thought it did just not as good a function?

Maybe Ill just have to go to the dealer and play with it, haha.

Why? I have both the options and no iDrive and i like them better. The iDrive was hammered with bad press and i had no reason to get a car equipped with it, and the CPO warranty did not cover it if it failed, so two reasons against it. Dont want to pay a ton of money if it failed.

I hardly ever use the nav, which seems like a waste.
I don't have idrive and that information still flashes on my radio screen, so this isn't really an idrive feature.

I didn't get idrive, because I think the (second) hump and the dial looks ugly. I just like the simplicity, flow and non-clutter of the non idrive setup (but i'm old school like that).

Also, most of the features and settings available on idrive can still be accessed without idrive through other means. However, I do like the Internet capability idrive now offers (I think you pay extra).

I don't have it. Have driven other bimmers with it and didn't come away wanting it. I preferred a cleaner dash board with a simpler more spartan interior. I have and like BlueTooth and caller info displays on my radio display - I have no regrets for not ordering it.

Definitely YES

I went to 7 BMW dealers and test drove quite a few CPO 07 335i.

Let me tell you...the non-idrive, non-NAV looks cheap compared to the one with.

The I-drive has gotten it's undeserved share of bad rep. but it works wonderfully (takes some time getting used to).

Go visit a few dealerships and take a look at 335i with and w/o i-drive and you be the judge.

I'm surprised there are so many comments that boil down to looks.

Personally, I love the looks and material quality of both the E90 with Idrive (which I have) and the one without. I live with the Idrive everyday and certainly don't think it looks ugly. It gives the car a high tech upscale feel. But, everytime I get a loaner that doesn't have Idrive, I like the Idrive-less interior for its clean almost-retro look.

Idrive is real gimmicky in my opinion, its pretty cool and has some REAL nice features...no doubt about it. At the same time, i think the navigation knob looks clunky as well as the bubble view on the dash, esthetically it didnt do anything for me.

I opted for everything outside of NAV, bluetooth is still quite good without idrive.

I agree with the minority here where, from an aesthetic standpoint, the interior looks better without iDrive. I have a "driver's dash" without the display and a manual shift lever in front of where the iDrive knob would be. Love the simplicity of it.

From a non-aesthetic perspective... I don't like navigating my 6FL with the tiny knob on the radio. And having 2 display lines is a pain. I can't imagine bluetooth is any better with iDrive... It may actually be better without iDrive as the display and the buttons are well laid out and within easy reach.

At first I didnt like the fact of having Idrive with all the negative press but after using it for a while now, it's very useful to have. Sometimes its frustrating to use but once you get a hang of it, its a peice of cake.

Keep in mind that on a 07-08 335i that you are buying used, you will NOT be paying a $2500 markup to get the iDrive - it should in essence be much cheaper on a used car. Personally, I think you'd be crazy not to get it. If you are even considering it, which you are, then you should get it. The only reason in my opinion to not get it is if you are a technophobe that hates nav systems, etc.

Having said all of that, the new iDrive on 2009 cars is fantastic - the best nav system available across car brands right now. If you are consdering a 2009, without question you should get it.

I ordered my orignally without I-drive and within a week I had to call back and have another built with it. Pushed my date back to get the car but I think its well worth it. It just makes the car more enjoyable with alot more access to options and a helpful screen for Bluetooth and music.

Nobody thinks its ugly, the i-drive screen MAKES the interior. Without it the interior looks like some base model Jetta or GM truck with wood trim.

I totally disagree. The new NAV is good, yes. But, it is pretty far from being the best across all brands. I don't even like it as much as the NAV in my 2004 Acura.

It's a pretty poor computer when you consider what computing power you can buy for $2500.

Also with the amount of time and hassle it takes to update the system I just don't think it's been well designed and I wouldn't want to have to pay to fix it if anything around the iDrive goes wrong after the warranty expires.
Totally agree. iDrive is cool, don't get me wrong. I like seeing my playlists when I use my iPod or load a CD burned with MP3, seeing my address book when you sync with a Bluetooth phone, etc. But the navi is ghetto (at least pre-'09). If you're buying a used car with iDrive, it's less of an issue because the depreciation is already baked in (i.e. you're not paying $2500) so it may be more justifiable.

No idrive for me.

I'm old and stupid, so I do not do well with high-tech gadgets. I drive a stick, shoot with a film camera, and still listen to traditional CDs. I prefer quality over convenience.

How does Idrive = bad quality?
Quite the opposite

Idrive is very high quality and convient...
