N55 e92 boost issues
Hi guys,
2011 335i e92 N55. I'm trying to decipher my logs to determine why my car isn't making as much power as it should, but I'm quite new to this and not as mechanically inclined as a lot of you people on this forum. Current mods are: - MTC motorsport charge pipe - VRSF 5" FMIC - VRSF catted downpipe - VRSF TIC charge pipe From what I'm seeing, the car struggles to reach the boost target, and when it does reach whatever peak boost, it immediately starts falling off at around 3-3500rpm which doesn't seem right. This log was at MHD stage 1 (v1.84). Please note that for this log, the car ONLY had the MTC charge pipe, and VRSF catted downpipe installed. https://datazap.me/u/dpanon/v184-stg...og=0&data=3-11 This log was at MHD stage 2+ (v1.6). From this moment, all the mods listed earlier were installed. https://datazap.me/u/dpanon/v16-stg2...og=0&data=3-11 This log was at MHD stage 2+ (v1.84). https://datazap.me/u/dpanon/v184-stg...og=0&data=3-11 What worries me with these stage 2+ logs is the amount of timing corrections present, especially on the v1.84 map. Is this something to be concerned about? Spark plugs were also changed around 8k miles ago. The stage 1 map was set to 98ron, and both the stage 2+ maps are for 95 ron fuel. I only put UK shell v-power in this car, which is supposed to be 99ron. Is this likely to just be a boost leak? Or anything? Any advice or pointing towards the right direction will be appreciated as I do worry for the car. Thanks |

I'm not sure I can really add anything with my level of experience, but I can only add on the issues I have had with my car.
My car had timing corrections with the 1.84 maps so runs the 1.60 maps where it holds 15 psi boost on stage 1+. My car also had an air leak before and after the turbo. It might be worth mapping for the fuel you are running on the more aggressive maps and seeing if that makes any difference? Although, I am not sure fuel is the issue. |
