Due a new phone on my contract and the only one I can get for free (due to being a cheap skate) is the Samsung i5700. Anyone know how well it works with the car? If I upgrade via one of the stores I can't take it back.

Updated 2.1 Android Sprint HTC Hero works fine, but worth noting, it appears they've added a checkbox in the connection screen "Trusted Source" that, if not checked, will make the connection cycle on and off.

Unhappy 330i and HTC Desire

Thanks for the helpful entry but I wonder has anybody encountered the problem I have with my HTC Desire (Android 2.1) and my 2009 330i. It seems to be that outlook contacts without contact photos synchronize by bluetooth without any problems but, if the contact record contains a photo it does not get sent across.

Has anybody got any suggestions how to cure this without scrapping either the Desire or the 330i (since I like them both)!

Nexus One running Froyo 2.2 works great

I've been using it for about a month on my '09 E90 and all functions are working.
Same goes for steering wheel commands and so on...just FYI

Hi, does your Outlook contacts list include photographs of the contacts? Roger

I just had time to check the Samsung Captivate (Galaxy S) on my E92 M3 and I'm happy to report synching was a piece of cake and it downloaded my address book in about 30 seconds. Everything is working great!

Actually, any Android device will work perfectly because Android supports PBAP Bluetooth profile since v 1.6.

Samsung Focus i917

I just recieved a Windows Mobile 7 phone

It is a Samsung Focus i917.

Also tried the HTC Surround and the LG, all worked and tried them right in the AT&T parking lot.

Paired flawless -- full contact list, call list etc. All BMW features working without a hitch

VZW Moto Droid Pro - won't pair. Says passcode is wrong. I have 3 handsets paired. Tried different 4 and 5 digit passcodes. Have paired Nokia e61, bb 7130, pearl, tour, bold 9650, wife's old featurephone, and our two iPhones at various times - if it's me, not clear what I'm doug different.

Glad to see that WP7 has built in PBAP profile! That's the first redeeming feature about that platform that I can find useful!

I have an LG Octane. It pairs fine with my '06 e90 with i drive. The only thing it will not do is show the phone book. Any ideas? Thanks,

I had a Moto Droid 2 Global, which is closely related to the Droid Pro. I got it to pair, but it was erratic. It would not transfer the phonebook, and frequently disconnected. I eventually took the car to the dealer. My SA there is an Android nut, and has both a Droid 2 (the pre Global variant) and an HTC Incredible. he was able to pair his Droid and HTC with my car. I've had no problem in my car with other phones as well (Blackberry, Moto V715, Iphone).

My SA then tried to pair my DG2 to several vehicles he had on the lot - no dice.

So, I think it is safe to conclude that the new versions of the Moto Droid line on VZW do not play nicely with the BMW bluetooth system.

This is not correct. There are many reports on these boards of users with Android OS devices that won't pair at all, or have only limited functionality.

My E92 is Wired but I would need to get BT installed. Just used it in a loaner during maintenance drop off. And I must say the phone part is sweet and amazingly clear on both ends of the call.

What imcouldnt get was Bluetooth audio playback. Is that not a possible feature or is coding needed? I've got an iPhone 4.
