New Short Shift Knob Part #

I found two different part numbers for the new short shifter and I would like to know which one it is,

25 11 0 404 454
or
25 11 8 036 628

here are the photos of the shift knob which I am referring to:

Thanks,
Nikki

I got the short shift knob and like it a lot better. Very easy to replace.

Is one for left-hand drive and the other for a right-hand drive car?

BTW is that a 1-Series?

I don't get it. How are there two part numbers for the same thing?

25 11 8 036 628 is the M Sport knob with perforated leather for LHD cars

25 11 0 406 895 is this one for LHD cars

25 11 0 404 454 is the above one but with chrome in the front instead of leather for LHD cars

So, If i want to install just the shorter knob, i just pull off the old, push on the new? No new boot? Or does that part # include a new boot?

Morristown BMW in NJ. $99.95 plus a few bucks for shipping (I'm in PA so it was only $5).

Here's a better picture:

thanks so much for clearing this up. has anyone gotten the chrome one and have photos? it doesn't seem like it would match very well.

The chrome shifter is the one in all these thread photos. It's similar to your existing shifter, only shorter, a little wider, and the bottom of it has chrome too. It will look great with your aluminum trim.

The leather shifter doesn't have any chrome on it at all.

For me, when I am resting my arm and then move it to the right to grab the shifter, I have to move my hand up slightly to grab it (i'm really short lol), but if it were a tad bit lower I could just move over and grab. I am assuming it will also have a little more compact of a shift.
