Rev It Up - BMW 3-Series (E90 E92) Forum

Hey everyone,

New to the forum here and thought I'd post this up for anyone interested. Rev It Up registration is now open. For those that don't know what Rev It Up is... essentially it is a Chevy sponsored event where you get to flog their cars on auto-x track and enter into a national competiton. DC registration is open for the two dates this summer August 26-27. I've already signed up

Sam, I forgot, did we manage to recruit you for the Sun 07:20 slot or what? Al, sorry to hear that...but will definitely catch you at the other events slated for the rest of the year. Are you joining us at Mazda on Sat at 08:00...

Yeah, for some unknow reason I actually listened and signed up for the 7:20 AM slot on Sunday

The crap we put up with to drive cars is incredible.

I move my rev-it up to 8am sat, and zoom sat at 8:15 if I wake up on time

I am a morning person, and now that Im back into the swing with school, ill be fine...

Plus, I have a ton of work to do this weekend... This will get me motivated to get work done early...

I was originally scheduled for Sun, since I have another event conflict, I switch it to Sat.

Closest one to Boston was in New York this year (previous years - as the Mazda Rev It Up - were local). It was last Saturday, and they used Cobalt SS's. I know a few people who went (decent autocrossers) and they said it was stacked with many SCCA national champs.

Just finished my Rev it up, 37secs is the National Time to beat Donny, if you guys can be within the 10percentile thats wonderful.

You guys are given 2 competition attempts to beat that, they have driving 101 and the 201 advance classes that provides the basic techniques. Im sure between Donny and David they got that down path, but the advance is well worth it for it teaches you the course layout, on film with narrations and a final run through.

Recommend to definitely hook up with one another, its more fun, I would have otherwise except I got another non-DE event tomorrow morning.

another recomendation, use the free chevy-impala-montecarlo-cobalt-corvette free test drive booth to practice the auto run. Its not a similar nor timed trial, but the crse is longer and lines are shorter, plus it you can do it as much as you want unlike the car control clinics w/c have longer wait and a very disaapointing drive duration/length.

But, with Donny around you guys tomorrow it would never be boring, and you get his own free take on how to beat the crse.
