Quixx scratch remover tested - BMW 3-Series (E90 E92) Forum

After much debate, I bought some Quixx from Amazon for about $15 and tried it out. (Un)fortunately I was able to try it on a few scratches of different size/depth:

The 'number 2' polish removed the scuff in the first picture without much effort. From what I could tell it was simply some contact transfer and could not be felt on the surface.

I put the whole system to work in the second picture removing what looked like a key scratch. It penetrated the surface and would catch a fingernail. After cleaning the area with quik detailer, I went to town on the area with the 'number 1' polish. After the first application began to fill in the scratch, I reapplied polish, rotated to a fresh section of cloth, and continued rubbing. Several rinse and repeats later I moved to 'number 2' and removed the hazing the repair left behind with more circular motions.

The last picture shows a bigger, deeper scratch that was probably made by a parking block or some sort of planter. It caught a fingernail and the rest of the finger. I used the same process as the lighter scratch but came out with less spectacular results. While some of the scratch was covered, a few of the deeper areas weren't filled in. I'm guessing that a bit of fresh paint and going over the area again with both polishes will finish off the repair.

Overall I am very impressed with the repairs, especially for the ease and cost. The kit included everything I needed, even some sandpaper I didn't end up using. With the exception of some ghosting due to minor differences in paint heights, the scuff and light scratch are undetectable. I imagine with more applications it would be perfect, but I'm not going to sweat it. The only negative I have is from looking that closely at the paint and realizing how badly it needs detailing.

I have that kit, but yet to try it. BTW I don't know how much you paid for S&H, but you can get it from local Walmart, two advantages: no S&H charge, and no waiting for it to arrive

I used quixx on my own car a while back and also had a good experience. While researching it, some people said that as soon as you wash your car... the scratches might come back. That didn't happen to me, but just wanted to let you know in case it happens to you

yeah, the scratches come back after you wash your car. I can confirm that.

Tried this stuff on my trunk and it worked pretty good. It basically fills in the scratch; you can still see it if you go up close but from far away it's undetectable. I also washed my car and the scratches did not reappear.

Still haven't had the scratches reappear. As for the deeper scratch in my driver door, I got some touchup paint from BMW and just filled it in. It's pretty much impossible to see now. As for my "woody" I'm pretty sure I'm pointing below the scratch.

Why would the scratches come back when you washed it?
Ive used this as well and have never had any thing reappear after I washed it.

This, combined with scratchX is a must to have in your garage. Also, if you use this stuff follow it up with a layer of wax.
