That's a great comparison you've made.
I should've done the same with mine before they got dirty and nasty.

BTW, I think the tires are not Toyo T1R, are they?

Nice! Can barely tell the difference in height. What is with the center hub? How do you like the Toyo's?

Maybe not. I thought they were supposed to be so I looked at them carefully. They say Toyo, but Proxes4 (whatever that means). Treadwear is 300. What do I have?

I tried to install the BMW center hub, but the stock ones are bigger and don't fit. I'll have to find smaller ones.

Don't look too closely, but not realizing the tires were directional, I mounted the left tires on the right and vice versa front and rear. Can you believe it? What's the probability of that happening? I'll tell you. 1/2 * 1/2 = 1/4 = 25% probability, and I did it. Damnit. Oh well, I just switched them around the correct way.

My only disappointment is the weight of the wheels without the RFTs. I thought these aftermarket ones would be much lighter despite the larger diameter and width. Only a marginal improvement was seen.

However, these are the figures:

STOCK LF = 55.2 lbs vs 52.8 lbs WORK LF
STOCK RF = 56.6 lbs vs 51.8 lbs WORK RF

STOCK LR = 58.2 lbs vs 56.6 lbs WORK LR
STOCK RR = 58.4 lbs vs 56.6 lbs WORK RR

Apparently these wheels are cast aluminum, not forged. The discrepancy in weights might be due to my cheap digital scale.

One more interesting digression...

I jacked up the rear of my car and the front wheel came off the ground. Man this car is stiff. I'm not sure if all E90s are this way or if the aftermarket sway bars + strut bar make it like this.

Frogman, I think you put the wheels in the opposite direction. I hope I'm wrong. But please check the rotation sign on the tires.

Yeah, I believe yours are Proxes 4. I was wondering at first, how come your treads are different than mine (T1R).

Still great tires though. At least Toyo prices are much friendlier than Continentals or the likes. :rocks:

I was worried about the fronts, because of the +28 offset, but they don't rub at all. They are perfect!

With the rear offsets at +26, the wheels are sticking out a little bit but the 265 tires have a chamfered edge that are directly above and parallel to the extra inner fender lip edge. Two or three times as I hit a big bump in the road, the right rear rubbed slightly (I have H&R Sports). I hope I corrected it by pushing in the closest point on the fender. I'll see today.

Very very nice

Long and you sure are leading the way in SG hotness

As mentioned, I would work on the center caps, the current one detracts too much from the looks. Are you thinking about the lip (either CF or painted or Studie) to the front M bumper?

edit: I forgot to mention Diesel's car in the SG hotness comment

I totally agree with the center caps. The gold color doesn't match anything on the car.

As for the M front, I don't much care for the M CF splitters. They don't blend in as well as the stock bumper splitters do. Then again, I've not seen anyone with painted CF ones for the M. I have actually gotten use to the look--in two dimensions, the mind's eye sees the extra plastic piece "filling in the void." See photo. It's also a matter of function over form, as I don't like driving like grandpa to avoid scrapes.
