tiny gold spots on AW paint???????

My AW 335i show a few tiny gold spots that you can feel on the paint. Most are located in the back trunk and bumper.

what is this?? anyway to clean this off?? regular washing doesnt do it.

Rust dots? Use a clay bar. I had the same on my AW rear bumper. Weird cause it didn't appear anywhere else. Did you change your rear bumper? I did...thought it might be cause it was a bad paint job....done by BMW !!!

There's a good chance it's rail dust caused during transportation. Your join date implies that the car is new and, therefore, was recently delivered. Claying the impacted areas (may as well do the entire car while you're at it) should remove the contaminant, then make sure you wax or apply a sealant. See the detailing forum for more help (try searching on "rail dust"). Good luck.

That being the case it could still be rail dust or paint overspray depending on where the car is parked. Try the clay and, if necessary, consult a professional detailer.

Send a message via AIM to sepsis
someone painted something near your car and the wind carried it over to yours. you can have it removed via one of those clay-stone car washes but it costs around 4 bills. same thing happened to one of my other cars.

White cars always have this problem, I have it on my Honda Accord and my E93. The body shop guy says it will always happen on a white car. The clear just absorbs dirt. You see it on the rear of the car because this is the area that gets alot of dust kicked up onto it from driving.

it could also have been wet road paint, maybe it sprayed or spalshed onto your bumper

My car gets the same orange dots.
I use Zaino clay bar to remove them.
Looks like new after claying the car and sealing it.

It is due to the vacuum effect created as you drive.
Easily visible on a white car.

I have owned a bunch of white vehicles , it shows up on all of them. I thought it was rail dust at first also, but it always comes back after using a clay bar. Its just something you have to deal with whenowning a white car these days.

I get this too from time to time on my black E90, used to notice it on a previous black car that I owned as well.. it's something from the road, it comes off though when I was the car.. never have figured out exactly what it is

rust spots? the bumper is plastic isnt it?
Its from acid rain and debris.....its all part of owning a white car you should clay bar it every other month to keep the paint smooth as babys bottom....

Clay bar should take care of it, then seal the paint with Zaino or the like.

When you're done with it, send it here:
