e92 335i or e90 m3?

This may seem like a dumb question for many but I'm having a hard time choosing between a 09 e92 335i and a 08 e90 m3. I'd be able to lease them for around the same amount of money. Keep in mind I will probably never track the car, it will be a daily driver on mixed city/hwy roads.

E92 335i
positives: options/colors I want, "street usable" power, mod potential, e92 is sexy
negatives: not as prestigious as the M3, handling not as good.

E90 M3
positives: M3 prestige, superior handling
negatives: although it has higher peak HP, you need to rev the crap out of the motor. The front is sexy but the car as a whole doesn't look right to me. The front is sexy and sleek while the rear is very pudgy (maybe that could be fixed with some cosmetic mods...). I can't get exactly what I want, choices are very limited. Gas Mileage

For DD, go 335 (unless your daily commute involves canyon backroads ).

I would probably go with the 335 as a daily driver. Gas mileage sucks on the M3.

Yes, I realize that however, I'm really on the fence on this decision. I was just hoping to get opinions on what others would do in my shoes and maybe someone will say something I did not think about.

This is one for you to figure out -- there's plenty of information on this board comparing the two cars. For me, there'd be no question. And BTW, you don't have to rev the crap out of the M3 to make it go fast, that's hyperbole.

If you're that undecided, just give me your money. I'm the decider.

Are you serious? You are basically saying I want a coupe, but I also want the label for people to stare at while I drive by.

Why would you get a car that does not fit your daily driving needs, does not come in the colors or options you want, and the car does not look right to your liking.

I considered both as well due to the great prices you can find a leftover M for but for use as a DD with the fuel economy being better and the tuneability I choose the 335... not to mention i'll be modifying the car to suit my tastes/needs so too each his/her own...good luck!!!

If you're just concerned about prestige, you can buy one of these for around $30K used:

agree with the whole prestige thing, its a tough choice but get what suits you dude. if anything try looking for an 08 m3 coupe if you have the money. problem solved, regardless think about it and make the right choice.

Are we to assume the same or similar price? If so, this is an easy choice for me. I'd take the M3 Sedan. The fact that the M3 has less torque and might not be a "fun" as a daily driver is more than made up for by the fact that it has that high revving V8 and top end power. Think about it this way... most people don't really get to do a lot of spirited driving in their morning commute anyway... so who cares if the 335i has more grunt from stoplight to stoplight or on the highway while you're going 65mph in traffic?

Don't get me wrong, the 335i is a great car (I should think so, I love mine) but it isn't like I'm using all of it's power on my way to work every morning. On those times when I really get to open it up, I'd be able to do the same with the M3.

Besides, I actually like the practicality of 4 doors and think that the sedan looks good.

hmmm..not too many helpful opinions so far is there haha.. well,i say go for the m3,its practicle, has enough power even driven softly, looks like a proper sports saloon and if you did go for the 335 e92,you'd probably wonder or regret one day why you didnt go for the m3 instead..though gas mileage is a bit of a stuffer for the m3,i mean how much does gas actually cost in the states now??so..this is me,i would go for the m3..what colour is it by the way??

Perhaps the mods should create a section dedicated to "help me decide" threads.
