Well, we have done plenty of meet and greets now. Most of us have met a few other members, and I say we get a fun event going on...

Many have tossed out the idea of a carting event, and there seems to be a good response for it...

How many of you would be interested in a carting event somewhere in the DC Metro area???

AJ, you know I'm in on this...been pushing for this.

I haven't checked the place out but will, soon. Gonna get the annual membership at $50 to get discounted rate all year and access to happy hours. You also get a free session on your B'day (next month for me and I believe AJ's the month after), so I'd recommend it.

I would like us to arrange for a mini grand prix...min 8 pax at $80 p.p. - 45 laps including qualifying rounds.


A bit OT

Aside from the Lux install/meet/bbq we still need to work on:

1) Summer Big Meet (maybe with Passport again)
2) Recommended Happy hour gathering

sixspeedsam brought up some fine ideas on doing a tech meet esp if we can get access to Passport's service bays. I also believe, geeslice can rope in a BMW tech (from Tischer)

Any other ideas for the summer months?

It's Friday and half my team is on vacation, summer hours are in full effect, and I'm bored You want ideas, I got your ideas right here! Off the top of my head...

- Crabfest ... if folks like crabs and beer that is
- Tubin ... Shenadoah River and SPF 600
- Wine Tour ... actually quite a few wineries in VA
- Charter Fishing ... charter boat, beer, food and fish
- Summer Music Fest ... happens at Belmont in VA. Big Head Todd and Toad the Wet Sprocket coming up.
- Movie Under the Stars ... good old drive in feel, couple of these around town
- Atlantic City ... umm, do I need to explain this one?

How's that? Now coordinating is a whole other discussion...

I second the following (from your list)
-wine tour...ask AJ, he knows a few in WV, great drive as well
-Movie under the stars (I haven't heard of these in the local area, pls share details!!)
-Atlantic City would be fun...hard to arrange though because of the distance
-crab fest or similar

The rafting and charter boat takes too much logistics to be immediately feasible.

I've casually asked Tracy (aka Ms. Happy Hour) to spearhead the happy hour meet. I believe AJ is pushing/exploring the allsports karting event.

You have my full support and commitment for the mentioned events
