Btw...maybe we should show what these paddles look like.

For those who don't know...these paddles are from the E90/E92/E93 M3 and will fit those guys with automatic steptronic with paddles shifters. But instead of push/pull shifters that comes of the 335i...these will be pull only. So the left paddle pull only downshifts and the right paddle pull only upshifts as on the M3 (a la F1 style). This is MUCH more intuitive...you won't be trying downshift when you meant to upshift (or vice versa).

These will plug and play with the BMW Performance steering wheel or the M3 Tri-stitch steering wheel.

I assume they will also work with stock sports steering wheel as long as your car came stock with paddle shifters (please confirm this Evan).

EDIT: It seems several people on this board can confirm it will work on your stock steering wheel, if your 335i came with paddleshifters.

They are made of metal (instead of cheap plastic that come standard).. they also have a tactile click rather than the standard smushy response. They are a ///M product from Germany hence why the cost for them are kinda ridiculous. A guy on Ebay is selling them for $674 USD.

Feedback from those who have installed seems to be very positive. Some people like the tactile click motion...others like the fact that the shifting is much more intuitive. Other people enjoy the looks. And some others like the fact that it is made of metal.

I organized a list of thread of people talking about this mod:

http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=123726
http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=224859

http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?p=3733492
http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=166128

So lots of interest...let's get peopled signed up!

Evan...can you also see if the - / + sign will be in white, black or red? Different market M3 seem to have different colours. I would prefer white as it is the least obtrusive.

To Evan/Jason

Can these be fitted into a M-sport steering wheel for a 335 (ie the one with the "normal" paddle shift)?

Billy you know you want it man! Go get it! You will not see this low pricing again for a long time...if ever....unless you find a wrecked M3 and want to buy a salvage wheel and clean off the blood from the DCT paddles.

Plus these are nice metal paddles...with nice satisfying "click" feel. Couple guys here say that it feels like the auto tranny reacts faster to your input...because the stock paddles are so squishy that they have a slight lag when you push/pull and when tranny reacts.

Don't wait out and then when you sit in my car at next meet...cry about why you didn't get them!

No...I think that photo is the M-Tech Perforated steering wheel.

I think meinauto is asking if the DCT paddles will fit directly on the stock steering wheel w/ paddleshifters that comes with 335i. I honestly don't think anyone has tried that. Although I would think they would fit. Here is my reasoning.

1. Both regular paddles and DCT paddles mount in the same position of the steering wheel.
2. Regular paddles will fit on the M3 DCT steering wheel if you cut a bit of the rubber on the steering wheel. (we're talking about a couple millimeters of rubber here)
3. Thus...the DCT paddles are smaller than the regular paddles.
4. Thus...you can fit the DCT paddles in the larger hole of the stock steering wheel. You can fill any millimeter gaps with felt tape if you are anal about how there may be gaps behind your steering wheel where you won't be looking.

The original question was if it would fit the M sport steering wheel. that's the one I have. it's a directly Plug n Play. the mounting area is the same size/shape as the push/pull paddles.

Sorry for the slow replies guys. This new rule where we are limited to posting in our threads is driving me nuts. Please bare with us.

Anywho, yes, these are plug-n-play for all of the wheels with paddles!

spacedog..thank you for posting the pics and the info!!! Can I use the pic of the steering wheel w/ paddles on our site? I don't have a good pic of those paddles as of right now.

Hmm...I didn't take a photo of it....so I can't take credit. I just borrowed the photo from another thread. I'm sure most people won't mind...but...can't say for sure.

Looks like it is just pic of a regular M3. If you want....you can wait until I get these DCT paddles from the groupbuy and I will send you all the photos you want. Photos of them installed, closeups...pics of me holding it and flashing "westside". Whatever you want.
