Question Window & door molding trims

I did a search and really one found 1 recommendation.

What does everyone use to clean/maintain their black window molding/trim and the door moldings?

Any recommendations? I'm about to place an order with the Top-of-the-Line, but wanted to get some suggestions before I place the rest of my order too.

TIA

LOL, I know what you mean. It gets old after a while. If you are referring to the rubber molding there are a lot of people that swear by Aerospace 303 protectant. I personally use Meguiars Rubber/Vinyl Protectant and it works very well, matte finish and does not run after a rain. Great for interior too.

BMW used to sell a product for this purpose called (and I'm going to mispell it) Gummiflage. It worked well, but is NLA. Zymol Seal is both available (but you'll need to mail or web order it) and better.

Tiefenpfleger & Gummi Pflege are made be Einszett (1z-usa.com); the first is to restore faded trim and the second is to maintain, they both work very well.

Alternatively I like Poorboys Natural Look (silicone based, so it lasts awhile, but it's oily so a little difficult to apply), or if you prefer water-based 303 aerospace (as someone mentioned). 303 will last 1-2 washes whereas Poorboys NL will last 4-6.

Meguairs makes a couple different ones, the consumer line (gold class vinyl/rubber) or natural shine; neither is exceptional, however their pro line #40 (vinyl/rubber care) is very good if you can find it. Also, if you want large quantities their "all season dressing" is a good rubber/vinyl dressing and tire dressing and is available in 1 gal quantities.

Hmm, good question. I also would like a product to use on this area. The Gummi Pflege looks good and it's under $10.

It's very easy to use, too. Einszett isn't a popular brand because they don't re-sell to online vendors, but they do make good stuff.

What about Mother's Protectant?! Anyone use it externally? Is the 303 good for interiors too? Where can you get it? [yes, ima Newb]

Yes, 303 works great on leatherette and plastic parts. AND, unlike some other products it's okay for leather too, so if you get some overspray, no big deal. To my knowledge you can only get it online, but they ship quickly.

.
Poorboys Natural Look is a water based formula.. Suited and designated for interior trim...

Are you confusing it with Trim Restorer?

Trim Restorer is Petro Based but it dries to the touch...
