Question M3 Sway Bushings Stiffer?

I'm interested if the front sway bar bushings can be swapped with the M3 sway bushings.
I bet they're stiffer, but I'm curious if the bushings will fit in the 335 bracket or if we would need to get the M3 bracket.

If anyone has done this, it would be cool to get your experience with the differences.

There's a part of me that thinks that the M3 bracket would need to be changed over but it would be nice to know if the holes in the bracket would line up to the same holes for the 335 bracket.

If the M3 bushings are stiffer and everything could be transfered over, then this looks to be a pretty good alternative rather than upgrading to a complete sway bar swap.

The first picture is the M3 sway parts and below is the 335 sway parts:

I had talked to harold at HP autowerks about this same idea. He has/had them in stock and said they fit. They were something like $20-30 for the brackets and two piece bushings. I went ahead and ordered the M3 bar too since it was only $150. The M3 bar is the same diameter in the bushing area as the 135i and 335i front bar, but the M3 doesn't neck down to a smaller diameter in the center like the other two. It should be much stiffer. We shall see...

My M3 front and rear bars just shipped. Hopefully I will get them on next week, woohooo.

I wasnt sure about getting it then. Also, Ive lost trust in the guy that always did my suspensions until I have the rear shocks and spring install inspected to make sure he did it right.

So this wa7 I can go to either Group 5 Motorsports, or Automotive Connoisseur Group and them add the bars and inspect the rear at the same time.

how much shop labor do you think for front sway bar and rear sway bar?
since the subframe needs to be lowered, maybe would be good time to do subframe bushings?

Why only do the bushings? You are not changing the roll stiffness by replacing the bushings only!

Change the complete set, not just piece meal it.

Aw crap, looks like another must-do mod. I agree with Harold on replacing the whole bar, I was under the delusion that the 335 & M3 bars were the same.

The reason why I asked at first was because I thought the M3 front bar was the same diameter and there was no difference.
Now, I realize that the M3 front bar doesn't taper in the middle making it a bit stronger and more stiff.

I just wish the rear sway was as easy to replace as the front because I would love to try out different bars to see what works for myself.
I'm loving the M sport rear but I have a feeling that by replacing the front with the M3 bar will just create more understeer.

Yes, when you increase the roll stiffness the vehicle should understeer more. However, in some cases the increase in roll stiffness actually reduce the body roll induced camber change and keep the more of the tire's contact patch on the ground, understeer is reduced.
