OP don't listen to the haters. this could be a great project or a shitstorm so make sure you dont mess it up. i would do the same in you (or your friends?) position if i had that insurance check! plus pocketing 4k sounds good to me.

I have only one question: What will the fender indicator read where the M3 one reads "///M3"? You'll need a custom one there, if you don't want people calling you a poser...

You can do what you want, but I think BMWs are built as excellent as they are and beyond performance mods (suspension, intake, chip) there are very few cosmetic mods worth doing.

For a country as fake as they come, there are a lot of self righteous haters here.

It's the OP's car, his insurance money, he can do the hell he likes. Why? because he can. Now crawl back under your stones and give the keyboard a rest.

I'd like to see more pics of how he is progressing with this project. Why? because I like to see someone take on a challenge and completing it.

Keep up the work and show us more pics

What I would have done, is wait until it is ALL done, then post a diary of what you did. Once people see that you are not just trying to recreate an M3, but instead give your car your own spin on modding---people would be more willing to accept your efforts. But this requires that you do some things to this car that are your own, and represent your taste.

Unless of course, you leave it EXACTLY like a stock M3 with badges, wheels, etc. Then get ready for more flaming.
Well done sir ........

Wow...I am really puzzled because with all the hours and money spent on this conversion, it would amount to a actual purchase of a M3, and then some....Nice project, but IMO its not worth it...

If I were footing the bill then I'd agree with you. Since the OP is riding the "other guy's" coat tail for the cost then ......... what the hell.

Side note: There must be lots of extra costs involved with all of this that would exceed the actual damage costs .......... and the "other guy" is willing to cover all of this? If so, cool.

cuz wats really the point of a mid-aged man owning a new m3? if he doesnt track it or does racing... i think 335 is fast enough ..
thats why im getting the m3 bumper for the non-m e92s
ppl r really paying extra 20-30k just for the m3 badge n look...

I buy first the C63 instead is cheaper and a better car by far. My .02 for the looks go all the way, the car will looks more aggressive. Enjoy the project!
