Anyone else get the C&D / R&T "Editor for the Day" invite? - BMW 3-Series (E90 E92) Forum

In the mail today, I got an invitation to Car and Driver / Road & Track "Editor for the Day" event at FedEx field on July 22-23.

"You are invited to put yourself behind the weel and perform your own side by side comparison test like our editors do. Test the BMW, Cadillac and Lexus and uncover a variety of performance attributes including acceleration, handling, braking, ride and stability control on our specialized test courses. In addition to enjoying a once in a lifetime driving opportunity, you will receive a personalized in-car video and a chance to have your opinions printed in the magazine!"

It's free. I went ahead and signed up. Anyone else going or have heard of it? It sounds like it could be fun.

FWIW, I don't subscribe to either magazine, so I have no idea how they got my name or address. I test drove a ton of cars, including Lexus and BMW -- perhaps a dealer gave my address out?

I signed up for Sunday July 23, 10:00 though...my preference for these driving events (less crowd, less traffic on the way there etc).

Its nice!, you've never been to one?. They've been on at least for the last 2 years running, although the 2004 event was better than the 2005 (more cars). Generally I find the event better run than MB's. The staff members are definitely far more courteous, polite and tolerant. Last year we had an all you can eat fancy hors d'oeuvres, the year before we had one pass at the buffet table...and why did I bring up food again?

AJ, not sure if they will feed you at Sat's ride n drive...sure sounds like you have a weak stomach

BK: I am pretty sure you do not need a mailed-in confirmation. The confirmation email should suffice. The only ride n drive I've gone to that required a mail-in/letter was last year's Jaguar Driving Experience at Summit Pt, WV. That was strictly by invitation, no website. Great food served
