New iDrive - Anyone Know What This Means?

Anyone have any idea what the "-4" and the "-3" mean in the box in the upper right corner of these screenshots from the new iDrive? I have it, and I can't make heads or tails of it.

I believe that is the song number of the CD you are listening to.

Can't be that. There's no disc in the slot.

The "-4" number does appear right next to a USB icon, so it wouldn't be crazy to think the "-4" is related to the ipod that's connected. But I can't figure out something that the number logically refers to. I'll mess with it some more and see what I can come up with.

Is that a USB icon next to the number?

Just a guess: Probably the level of amplification of the signal that is coming in from AUX.

It has to do with the track that you are listening to, it changes with the song but I dont know where the number comes from, with ipod playlists it just seems like a random number.

On mine that "-3" means the track list on the IPod playlist that I'm listening to. If it were Sirius you would see the little dog or a CD if it were a CD. I'm not sure about radio though.

The USB icon means your using your ipod. The number is the track number of the playlist you are listening to. When you have a CD in you will notice the USB icon is changed to a CD icon, and the number is the CD track number.

but I have a USB flash drive connected to mine and get the same icon and number, so I guess it can be either one.

That's the self-destruct timer.

According to your photos, your car will explode in exactly 4 seconds. Good luck.

(or, it could be the number of the song on the album that you are listening to on the USB drive; i.e. 4th song on a 10 song album).

So, your car did blow up when the count down ended?

What does the "T1" or "Tl" mean in the lower right window after the arrow and dot?

Arrow + Dot means that you have a destination set and guidance is on.

TI means that you are getting a Traffic Information feed from a local radio station
