Twisty VA Roads (VA Neighbors Welcome)

I'm trying to do a lot more driving nowadays, due to my extreme amount of free time, so I checked out this site:
http://www.motorcycleroads.us/va.html

Motorcyclists always know the best roads, so I'm planning to hit Leeds Manor Road tomorrow to verify the twisty factor.
http://www.motorcycleroads.us/roads/va_lmr.html

25 miles of twisty backroad goodness FTW! I will be taking the 50W, then get off to Winchester Road, which is about 40 miles from my house. I will report back with video footage...maybe. Later, we could probably set up an awesome caravan/meet focused mainly on driving.

Will there be?

I didn't get any sleep...I might pass out and wake up too late.

I dunno, 4th of July holiday...there's bound to be a motorcycle posse or two.

What time are you thinking of going?

Now.

Actually, I don't know yet. We could set up something for later this week. I don't mind motorcycle posses, I'll get them to escort me or something.

Route 7 listed as "scenic" from Leesburg to McLean?!?!? WTF? It's all stripmalls. Maybe west of Leesburg sure, but certainly not the stretch they have listed.

I'd be up for something in the week, but not the weekend as I'll be in Canada for the weekend.

How about right off Lewinsville Rd in McLean... Georgetown Pike is a nice road for the Tysons area. I live right off Hunter Mill Road in Vienna, so when I'm feeling down I usually make a big loop around my house.

Rte 7 towards Tysons (get some straightline action) take the Beulah exit and either roll out to 123 (Vienna) or turn on Colvin Mill which takes me to a stop sign right by my hood. Nice, short, twisty. Great to ease a little tension whenever I feel like it.

If you don't mind the drive. About an hour out of Vienna, down 66 is Skyline Drive. It's a great drive, nice and scenic, great twisties. Especially if you go from the Front Royal entrance and exit at the mid-point entrance and take the road too Luray Caverns. If you want hard lefts and rights, that's the place to go, even being in the drive seat I started to feel nausea myself, haha.

Paris/Delaplane off 66 is pretty much one long straight with a bunch of hills. Caution: most of the PoPo roll with Camaro Z28's.

I goto school in SoVA and down here you can take any backroad and all of them just seem to stretch on for hours. Rule of thumb when coming to a fork in the road always take the road that points to the Blue Ridge.

Yea... That is all I had to say.

Oh the road is 211 off of Skyline Drive if anyone is interested. That's heading towards Luray.

Would be a great way to chalk-test tires or tune for under/over steer adjustments... Or just a fun time.

The best Roads in NoVA for 'exciting driving' are:

Rte 7 to Seneca Road to Beach Mill Rd to River Bend Road - Great Falls
Georgetwon Pike to Swinks Mills to Lewinsville Road - Great Falls
Evergreen Mills Road - goes from Rte 50 W thru to Leesburg
Snickersville Road - Middleburg to Bluemont (great LONG road)
Halfway Road - Middleburg to Haymarket
