Blockbusters subscribers save $ cancelling

Crap! I posted in the wrong section....Admin. Please move.

For those with Blockbusters subscription with for example, 1 at a time for $11.99/month with 2 in-store exchanges membership, you should go ahead and complete the on-line cancellation process and you will be offered the same dvd deal for $9.99/month to get you back.

Not too bad...$2 bucks (16%) savings. Possibly greater savings if you have a more expensive membership.

Anyone know of more savings offer from vendors wanting to retain customer $$$?

See below for their email...I think their Premium offer is screwed up from the automated mailer...anyways cancel at your own risk!:

We have processed your request to cancel your BLOCKBUSTER OnlineŽ 1 at a time for $11.99/month, 2 in-store exchanges membership.

If you'd like to continue enjoying all that blockbuster.com has to offer; let us know if one of the following special offers might be right for you:

Premium- 1 at a time for 16.99 FOR ONE MONTH - $ 16.99
You will receive unlimited DVDs up to 1 at one time. At the end of the one month offer, your price will be $21.99 plus tax per month.
This BLOCKBUSTER Total Access Premium plan give you the flexibility to return your online DVD by mail or return it in-store for a free* in-store movie rental.

1 at a time for 9.99 maximum 2 in-store exchanges - $ 9.99
You will receive unlimited DVDs up to 1 at one time, 2 in-store DVD exchanges per month.
This BLOCKBUSTER Total Access plan give you the flexibility to return your online DVD by mail or return them in-store for a free* in-store movie rental, up to plan limits.

To sign up for one of these promotions, please use one of the links above.

If you still want to cancel your membership, do nothing. We will go ahead and process your cancellation effective 03/06/2009. Please be sure to return all BLOCKBUSTER Online DVDs by 04/20/2009 to avoid additional charges.

Thanks,
Your Friends at BLOCKBUSTER OnlineŽ

I reinstated...to try it out and I received a Welcome Back greeting. The new rates for the special offer will be in effect on the next billing cycle.

A side note...one of the boxes I checked was regarding the service was too expensive...or something like that. This might have triggered that automated special offer.

I gave up on Blockbuster when a bunch of stores closed down on me. Without in-store exchanges it's not worth it for me anymore. I'd rather go with Netflix.

Now, they will send the next title in the queue after the in-store movie is returned...not when the mailer movie is scanning in. Essentially, no way to have two movies in hand at any time.

Dude, eat me. OP edited his original post at about the same time as my comment. I was civil and there's no call for your horseshit comment.
