I get washer fluid from Walmart.....$.99/gallon.....works fine. No streaks or whatsoever. If you want to save money....use water.

Put Windex... It won't freeze and it cleanse the windshield really good!!! The green bug remover washer fluid works good too. But don't put water if you live in a cold climate b/c it will freeze and crack your tank

My bad.....water will freeze in cold weather....i.e. North Pole? Southern Calif....the weather doesn't get colder than 48 degrees Fahrenheit......and that's freezing!

My sales lady told me to fill it with water and put in a teaspoon of dishwashing liquid. Does anyone know what the car has in it from the factory?

During winter months I use washer fluid that is good for up to -30 degrees celsius.
I add water to the washer fluid when it's not that cold outside. I never use pure water because it really doesn't clean the windshield at all.

DO NOT USE DISHWASHING LIQUID! IT WILL LEAVE LOTS OF STREAKS! SPEND A DOLLAR OR TWO AND GET THE WASHER FLUID! YOUR SALES LADY IS A PSYCHO!

The factory uses a special alcohol/distilled water mix, that you can buy at most BMW dealerships in Europe. In the US, we cannot buy it, because it is clear, and due to the fear that some stupid idiot will drink it, and sue them for making it look like water. So, we only have colored liquid in the US.
