Jack!

Anybody bought a jack for their E9* I was told by the tyre guys that BMW do a jack that is made especially for these models.
Now got four new PS2's ordinary tubeless tyres on no shite runflats for me!

E46 jack or the MINI jack - a perfect fit I'm told.

BMW OEM jacks are a rip off (about 80-100).

Get a trolley jack and one of these:

Correct! I do not have a spare and I don't want to remove the wheel.

Works like this...I get a puncture, usually a nail or screw.

I use the jack to raise the wheel off the ground so I can turn the wheel.

When I can see the offending item I can remove it and either plug it with the plug kit or fill the tyre with tyreweld and turn the wheel to put the hole at the bottom so the stuff leaks out and fills the hole.

Then use the compressor to inflate the tyre.

The proper jack has cost me 89.10 inc 10% discount and VAT which is feck all when I have just spent 1k on tyres on a car that was 43k last year(not what I paid for it though)

The proper jack kit comes in a nice bmw box with a pre set torque wrench too.

And some gloves :-)

Don't know what they've been doing with yours mate?

It was out of stock in Germany, so the whole world was waiting for them!!

Usually I pay on collection for BMW parts, but as it was a factory back order the dealers cannot return them for a credit, thus I had to pay up front for it.

It is pricey, but I tell you its the best quality scissor jack you've ever seen! The fold-flat wheel chock is genius and the torque wrench is a dream to use.

Picked the jack up yesterday and I have to say that it is a quality piece of kit, wheel wrench has a 1/2" 17mm socket so it can be used with other sockets, torque wrench, tyre chock and gloves! Very substantial and well worth it, I just managed to fit it in the space under the cover

E90/91/92 Jack ETC

You can buy a spare wheel from the dealers (around 140.00 quid) fits front and back its one of those thin wheels but works ok then i just bought a cheap scissor jack from screwfix about 10.00 + a 17mm wheel wrench around a fiver. Wrench and jack fits perfectly under that carpet bit in the boot, wheel just sits on top, I have tryed the jack works and fits great!
