sounds like hes in first gear for too long there no? Must have some sick gearing.

It's a bit like a 'variomatic' gearchange, an 'automatic gearbox' in this M5.
That's why you hear the revs overreving and going to another gear 'stepless':

Yeah... sounds like a CVT gearbox in my wife's car...but on steroids.

A friend described it as a golf cart because there's no noticeable gear change and it sounds like one continuous gear
