▀▄ eas | XM Satellite Radio now available for your BMW!

Satellite Radio fans rejoice - you now have a choice of Satellite providers!

Satellite Radio is the radio of the future. In the past, BMW has restricted owners to only Sirius in their vehicle - this is not the case any longer. XM features over 160 digital channels - The Most Commercial-Free Music in Satellite Radio, over 30 channels of news, sports, talk and entertainment, over 20 dedicated channels of XM Instant Traffic & Weather, and the deepest playlist in the industry with access to over 2 million titles!

mObridge is proud to bring you the first ever after-market XM Radio kit for seamless XM integration with your BMW or MINI factory radio.

Combined with our popular iPod functionality (sold seperately), mObridge XM is the most advanced audio addition for your vehicle.

Our XM Direct lets you use your factory radio display and controls to listen to XM with no need for a separate receiver mounted on your dash. This will replace your factory Sirius setup, your vehicle cannot use 2 receivers at the same time.

Yes - kits are fully compatible with iDrive or Professional CD units.

iPod Integration is offered in a different kit, but both the iPod and XM can be used together.

so do you need to buy both $550 kits to have both ipod and xm functionality, or do some parts overlap?

also, will the xm set up work with the dealer installed ipod setup?

sorry about all the questions.

No problem - we're here to help.

The hardware is completely different between the iPod and XM kits, however both modules can coexist in the same vehicle to provide the best of options. The XM kit is also compatible with the OEM BMW iPod interface or vehicles equipped with 6FL/USB.

Good question.

While the XM kits come with a micro-antenna, we prefer to use the OEM sharkfin instead - the connectors are exactly alike.

Would anyone be so kind to share your experience with your BMW dealership who did the installation/activation? Did you physically install the hardware or did the dealer? Were there any issues with them installing the 3rd party equipment or upgrading the iDrive software (aside from the usual difficulties that I've read about)?

Activation is exactly the same as if BMW was activating a factory Sirius receiver. This device will in no way void your warranty.

My '09 E90 335ix with nav already has the Sirius installed. Can I replace the existing Sirius module with this XM kit? In that case, how difficult is the install?

Essentially Plug and Play since you already have a satellite receiver installed. No programming is needed in your case.

A little different since the fiber lines must be connected to the optic bridge underneath the rear seat, this will add about 20-30 minutes to the job.
