Exclamation windshield crack keeps growingg... HELP!! how do i stop it?

Ok so i have a crack in my windshield and it started from the corner of the windshield where the black lining is so I didnt see it earlier...

anyways its about 5-6 inches now and i tried to super glue it but it seemed to just slow it down...

this morning i saw and it extended past the little blob of glue i had put on the very end of the crack...

SO does anyone know what I can do to stop this crack from growing?

I don't really want to spend 1500 or w/e it is for a new windshield yet... maybe after I get a few more cracks lol...

Thanks..

lol...what are you doing? replace it.

basically a deep pit or whatever will cause those windshield crack lines when moisture gets into the pit and expands due to heat or cold.

it shouldn't cost 1500... and i think if you went through insurance (not sure if your insurance covers this or not), it would be cheaper.

when i replaced my 1998 mercedes e320 windshield, it was around 200 bucks and we went through insurance.

yea there is no way to "stop" the spread of the crack. Just have it changed, most insurance companies cover that
good luck

you can find a crack specialist, they will use some kind of material that will stop the growth of the crack, but it wont remove it completely

cost should be around 50-80 depending where you go

Are you F-ing serious!?! Replace it, duh! Doesn't your insurance company have $0 deductable? In any case, you need to replace it and you can get a ticket for having a cracked windshield.

Yup, clear duct tape worked wonders for me when my windshield cracked.

And the best part about it, is that it's CLEAR!

It's like looking at nothing at all!

Make sure you apply rainx before you put it on though, that way it helps strengthen the adhesive.

if you get the duct tape, just make sure you soak it in Rain X first..

That's what I did.

A great thing about clear duct tape is that you can keep reapplying it. It only strengthens the windshield the more you put on.

I'm asking this because I am really not sure if you are really serious or not.

Are you guys serious about using duct tape or just joking around? Does clear duct tape really works on windshield crack? How about when you use your wiper doesn't eat peel off the duct tape? no?

Lol at the sarcasm... But yeah I have no choice I guess... I gotta replace it...

And lol thanks for the help... If I don't replace it I think I will just heat up a pot of rainx and throw some duct tape in there too... Then just pour the mixture into the crack...
